Recap by phillip woo
Well-backed Majestic Star responded nicely to take control 100m out after a wide without cover trip in midfield from an outside draw. He relished a return to the dirt for a fourth win on both surfaces from 12 starts. We The South kept on gamely to just take second after narrowly leading along the inside from favourite Campione. He can produce an odd good run on this surface. Grateful Heart came from near last to snatch a placing on the wire. It was an improved effort following a stable change and return to the dirt. Campione lost third late after prompting the pace from a tricky gate. He's at his best when getting his own way in front and did have to carry a big weight. Winning Dreamer just held his ground after a prominent run on the fence. He had his chance and is a better horse on the turf. Specked late Keep You Warm weakened after a one-out, one-back run. He's on his mark after a win at Happy Valley in May. Supported late in betting, Silver Fig never landed a blow after making his run as expected at the rear of the field. He requires a stronger pace.
