Recap by phillip woo
Favourite Quadruple Double kept up a strong gallop after clearing to the front from Happy Tango 800m out for a fifth career win at start 42 and first on the surface to gift rookie rider Angus Chung Yik-lai. He was knocking on the door late last season and appreciated the weight off his back. Lucky Ruby stayed on gamely to finish next best after being hustled along to hold a position one off in third. He does act best on this surface. Thunderstrike peaked on his run 100m out after looming a chance mid-straight following a prominent run on the fence. It was a good effort first run back after bleeding in March. Stand Up ran on steadily to fill the frame after a handy run. He's still lightly-raced but is heading in the right direction. Chiron ran on late near the inside without menacing the top-four travelling second last after a sluggish start. He'll be a force to be reckoned with if he finds his way into Class Five. Lady First mild bid travelling behind midfield. It was a below par performance following a stable change. E Brother ran on OK late down the outside after badly missing the kick. It was another costly performance.
