Recap by phillip woo

Newcomer Lucky Eight drew clear after assuming the lead 250m out settling one-off in third as the firming favourite. He lived up to his trials and the future is bright for the three-year-old. Chicken Dance ran on steadily to overhaul Luck Star for second after a one-off trip in midfield. It was his best run of the campaign but he was well rated and had the services of Joao Moreira. Well-backed Luck Star kept on well for a placing after a prominent run on the fence. He lived up to an improved trial for his new trainer. Turbo Power just failed to figure in the placings after a one-off trip fore of midfield. He needed the run off a 127-day break. Jiangxi Stamina ran on without menacing from towards the rear. It was a typical effort. Universal Crown made a mild bid after a wide trip behind midfield. He had an excuse but does find it hard in this grade. Happy Tango had no more to offer 100m out leading from a middle draw. He's still on his mark. Infinity Win plodded under the whip after a rails run in midfield. He has been costly without winning in 13 starts. Fighting Star never came on after a one-off trip behind midfield. He's not reliable. Blissful Life badly missed the start after rearing at the start and never a factor.

Racing Incident Report

Race Two: (752) - SPESSARTINE GARNET HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters

As the start was effected, BLISSFUL LIFE reared and lost a significant amount of ground.

Before being allowed to race again, BLISSFUL LIFE will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial.

EASY LIFE stumbled at the start.

CHICKEN DANCE and FIGHTING STAR bumped at the start.

JIANGXI STAMINA and MIGHTY STAR were tightened for room on jumping between UNIVERSAL CROWN which shifted out and SUPER KINGDOM which shifted in after bumping KOKUSHI MUSOU.

After this, from a wide barrier, SUPER KINGDOM was shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.

After being steadied in the early stages, KOKUSHI MUSOU travelled wide and without cover after the 900 Metres.

Passing the 800 Metres and again near the 700 Metres, LUCK STAR raced tight inside LUCKY EIGHT which shifted in marginally.

Passing the 650 Metres, FIGHTING STAR and UNIVERSAL CROWN raced tight as FIGHTING STAR shifted out away from the heels of INFINITY WIN.

A veterinary inspection of FIGHTING STAR immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.

After returning to the stable, FIGHTING STAR was reported to have bled from both nostrils and accordingly the horse was deemed to have bled.

A veterinary inspection of BLISSFUL LIFE and KOKUSHI MUSOU immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

LUCKY EIGHT and CHICKEN DANCE were sent for sampling.
