Racing Incident Report
Race Three: (733) - BELLFLOWER HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1800Meters
BELUGA and SOULMATE bumped at the start.
GORYTUS was crowded for room shortly after the start between SAVAQUIN and CHARITY GO which was taken in by MONEY CATCHER which got its head on the side and shifted in despite the efforts of its rider.
After this, GORYTUS and CHARITY GO were shifted across behind runners.
Also shortly after the start, TIANCHI MONSTER shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of SAVAQUIN which became unbalanced.
After being shifted out in an attempt to improve between SOULMATE and MONEY CATCHER passing the 300 Metres, BELUGA was then disappointed for running between those horses passing the 200 Metres.
BELUGA was then held up for clear running from near the 175 Metres until passing the 50 Metres at which time BELUGA was directed to the inside of SOULMATE to obtain clear running.
Approaching the 200 Metres, SAVAQUIN was shifted to the inside of TIANCHI MONSTER to continue improving.
Approaching the 50 Metres, MONEY CATCHER raced tight outside SOULMATE which shifted out under pressure.
BELUGA, SOULMATE and MONEY CATCHER were sent for sampling.

Soulmate straightened nearly two lengths on top and repelled a challenge from favourite Money Catcher over the last 100m to ring up a fourth win this season. He's had a fine campaign and was well-rated by Lyle Hewitson. Money Catcher had his chance stalking the speed but found one just too good in the end. He's racing well without winning. Gorytus was closing with every stride from midfield to come up a neck short. He's held his ground up in grade twice after a sweeping success in April. Firming favourite Beluga had an excuse when held up for a run from the 200m until the late stages after a box-seat run. Savaquin ran on without ever looking a threat after biding his time second last in the seven-horse field. He's been off his mark in his past two starts. Tianchi Monster was revved up for more three deep approaching the final bend following a one-out, one-back run but had no more to offer 150m out. He just isn't good enough at this level following a second win in Class Three last start. Charity Go never came on from the rear. The combination of a slow pace and wet track went against him.
