Recap by phillip woo
Rise Brethren dashed nicely along the inside to take control 200m out after a patient ride second last in an eight-horse field for a well-deserved second win from nine starts. He seemed to relish the wet going and goes nicely under Zac Purton. Firming favourite Natural Storm got going to take second 100m out after a rails run in midfield. It was another good run over the Valley 2,200m. Above kept on well to finish a clear-cut third after a box-seat run. Born The Same Day ran on well to fill the frame after badly missing the start. He proved a closing second two back over the Sha Tin 1,800m was not a fluke. Blastoise came up one-paced after a one-off trip in midfield. He's likely on or near his mark after a win two back. Punted late, Perfect Maryknoll weakened over the last 150m after getting his own way in front. He didn't seem to get the trip. Savvy Kingman was yielding ground 400m out after a pace-stalking run. He's been off his game in his past four starts after lighting the board in his opening seven starts and appears to need a break. Classic Archi never came on after a one-off trip travelling behind midfield. He needs more time to acclimatise.
