Racing Incident Report
Race Nine: (720) - CAINE HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1650Meters
GIFT OF LIFELINE shifted out at the start and bumped WIN WIN FIGHTER.
NIMBLE NIMBUS began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped EN POINTE.
MALDIVES was bumped on jumping by VIVA HUNTER which shifted out.
After this, MALDIVES was shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.
HORSESAIN BOLT began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped DR WINNING.
Then from the outside barriers, HORSESAIN BOLT and DR WINNING were shifted across behind runners to obtain a position closer to the rail.
Near the 1350 Metres, THE HULK was very awkwardly placed close to the heels of WIN WIN FIGHTER as that horse was being steadied to allow NIMBLE NIMBUS to cross.
THE HULK then lay in away from the heels of WIN WIN FIGHTER, resulting in GIFT OF LIFELINE being crowded for room.
After being crossed by VIVA HUNTER after the 1300 Metres, NIMBLE NIMBUS commenced to travel keenly and got its head up when being checked away from the heels of VIVA HUNTER.
Passing the 1100 Metres, HORSESAIN BOLT raced close to the heels of THE HULK as that horse was steadied to maintain cover behind WIN WIN FIGHTER.
MALDIVES, which was following HORSESAIN BOLT, was awkwardly placed behind that horse in consequence when travelling keenly.
After the 900 Metres, DR WINNING was shifted out from behind HORSESAIN BOLT and allowed to improve its position.
After the 700 Metres, DR WINNING was bumped and taken wider by NIMBLE NIMBUS which shifted to the outside of VIVA HUNTER.
DR WINNING was then awkwardly placed outside the heels of NIMBLE NIMBUS near the 600 Metres.
Passing the 300 Metres, EN POINTE got its head on the side and lay in.
After the 300 Metres, NIMBLE NIMBUS lay in under pressure, resulting in VIVA HUNTER being inconvenienced approaching the 200 Metres.
MALDIVES had difficulty obtaining clear running after the 200 Metres and then was held up for clear running from approaching the 150 Metres until near the 100 Metres.
A veterinary inspection of EN POINTE and VIVA HUNTER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
WIN WIN FIGHTER, DR WINNING and NIMBLE NIMBUS were sent for sampling.
GENERAL:

Races 8 and 9 were each put back 5 minutes.

The Veterinary Surgeon reported that MY SUGAR had sustained a right front suspensory ligament injury the day after racing.
Before being allowed to race again, MY SUGAR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
3.
Racing Laboratory tests of CIRCUIT NINE, LUCKY BANNER, BUNDLE OF CHARM, VICTORY SCHOLARS, SUPER SUNNY SING, SUPER AXIOM, TIMESTORM, WIDE BLUE YONDER, AMAZING VICTORY, POWER KOEPP, STAR BRITE, CLASSIC POSH, RUSSIAN EMPEROR, KA YING STAR, MY INTELLIGENT, STUNNING IMPACT, ETERNAL BLOOM, HARMONY WIN WIN, BEAUTY LIVE, GOLDEN EMPIRE, CORDYCEPS SIX, NERVOUS WITNESS, ROYAL BOMB, PRECISE EXPRESS, ALL FOR ST PAUL'S, FIVE G PATCH and TOTAL POWER (22.5.22) proved negative.

Outsider Dr Winning just got the better of Nimble Nimbus in the last few strides after being set alight from the rear 800m out for a third win this season and first at his seventh run in this grade. He had a lightweight and was given a terrific ride by Alex Badel. Punted late, Nimble Nimbus wouldn't go down without a fight after hitting the lead 200m out after rolling forward to vie for the lead three deep 500m out after a handy run. He clearly has the tools to win at this level following a second win in Class Four last month. Gift Of Lifeline ran on nicely from midfield to finish a close third. He's always a chance over this Valley trip. Post-time favourite Win Win Fighter took a while to get going but finished well for fourth after a one-off trip in midfield. It was a positive effort up in grade following a win but he might be looking for an 1,800m trip. Crossford came up one-paced after a box-seat run. It was another honest effort but he's likely on or near his mark. Maldives ran on without menacing ridden for luck from a wide draw. The big weight is proving hard to overcome. En Pointe weakened over the last 100m after working hard to lead from gate six. The switch to the Valley backfired.
