Racing Incident Report
Race Three: (714) - ROBINSON HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1650Meters
NEW ASIA ADVANCE began awkwardly, shifted out and was awkwardly placed inside the heels of LUCKY MISSILE which on jumping shifted out and bumped FAITHFUL TRINITY.
HAPPY DAILY shifted out at the start and bumped BLISSFUL STAR.
From an outside barrier, COURAGEOUS KNIGHT was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.
Approaching the winning post on the first occasion, CITY LEGEND was awkwardly placed close to the heels of NEW ASIA ADVANCE after getting its head on the side and shifting in away from HAPPY DAILY.
After the 500 Metres, CITY LEGEND attempted to improve to the outside of NEW ASIA ADVANCE and in doing so bumped COURAGEOUS KNIGHT.
CITY LEGEND was then awkwardly placed close to the heels of NEW ASIA ADVANCE approaching the 400 Metres when unable to improve between that horse and COURAGEOUS KNIGHT.
Passing the 200 Metres, FAITHFUL TRINITY was shifted to the inside of BEST FOR YOU.
When questioned regarding BEST FOR YOU being ridden in a forward position tonight, Trainer Y S Tsui stated that BEST FOR YOU had previously been successful over the course and distance when able to obtain a position behind the speed.
He said as BEST FOR YOU has been getting out of its ground in recent races and not finishing off as well as anticipated, with the very light weight tonight and the outside barrier, he felt that there was an opportunity for BEST FOR YOU to be ridden positively in the early stages with a view to obtaining a similar position behind the leaders.
H T Mo, the rider of BEST FOR YOU, stated that after riding his mount positively out of the barriers to ensure that it obtained a forward position, he was required to improve forward of BLISSFUL STAR after passing the winning post on the first occasion as he was not able to obtain cover behind that horse.
He said he anticipated to race to the outside of E LEGEND, however, after being ridden along in the early stages, BEST FOR YOU travelled keenly after the 1300 Metres and therefore he allowed his mount to improve its position around E LEGEND and obtain the lead near the 1100 Metres.
LUCKY MISSILE, E LEGEND and BLISSFUL STAR were sent for sampling.

E Legend kept on gamely after reclaiming the lead from Best For You 300m out for a second win from his past five starts following a step up to a mile. He should remain in the grade and can win again. Early favourite Blissful Star plugged on nicely to edge post-time favourite Lucky Missile for second after settling one-out, one-back without cover from the 1,100m. He remains a winner waiting to happen. Lucky Missile ran on nicely along the inside to just miss second after a rails run in midfield. He goes very well for Joao Moreira. Happy Daily got up for fourth after being asked for more 450m out following a patient ride third last from a middle gate. He was giving his rivals too much of an advantage in the weights. Best For You stuck on all right after working hard to lead 1,100m out from the widest draw. It was his best run from eight starts on stepping up to the Valley 1,650m after a 1,400m win in November. City Legend ran on along the inside without menacing after making his run one from the rear. It was a typical performance. Faithful Trinity had no excuse after a box-seat run. He's not easy to get right.
