Racing Incident Report
Race One: (576) - PERCIVAL HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1000Meters
STAR OF WUYI was slow to begin.
VICTORY MORE began only fairly.
ABOVE ALL began awkwardly.
JADE THEATRE shifted out at the start, resulting in SIMPLE DOCTRINE being crowded for room inside MASTER OF FUN which became unbalanced after being bumped on the hindquarters by SIMPLE DOCTRINE.
After the 600 Metres, RUBY STARS was left racing wide and without cover.
When racing wide and without cover, RUBY STARS got its head on the side and lay out approaching and passing the 500 Metres.
MASTER OF FUN got its head on the side and lay out making the turn after the 600 Metres.
Approaching the 300 Metres, WINNING STRIKES and TREASURE OF FIELD bumped.
Then near the 250 Metres, WINNING STRIKES shifted out and was awkwardly placed inside the heels of TREASURE OF FIELD.
After the 300 Metres, MUDITA was shifted out away from the heels of MASTER OF FUN.
After the race, J Moreira was not able to offer any explanation for the disappointing performance of MUDITA.
He said after shifting his mount across from the outside barrier in the early stages, he was able to obtain cover in a position behind midfield.
He said after being placed under heavy pressure prior to the Home Turn, MUDITA did not respond to his riding and failed to finish the race off.
A veterinary inspection of MUDITA immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

ABOVE ALL and TREASURE OF FIELD were sent for sampling.

Drifting favourite Above All timed things perfectly to collar Treasure Of Field in the last stride for the win after a lovely run on the fence in midfield. He had turned the corner last start with a near win and looks ready to step up off a light weight in Class Four now. Treasure Of Field was just touched off late after surging to the front after stalking the leader Winning Strikes from a wide draw. He can produce an odd good run now and then and was having his second start in the grade. Firming late to nearly jump favourite, Carry The Diamond kept on a non-threatening third after a one-out, one-back run. He's not far off a bottom. Star Of Red just held his ground after a box-seat run to finish next best without menacing the top three. He's starting to come around. Victory More got going to earning a minor cheque after saving ground behind midfield from a low draw. It was clearly his best run from seven starts following a downgrade. Star Of Wuyi dashed late after settling one-off behind midfield after missing the kick. He's in the right grade now but needs a longer trip. Mudita never fired a shot travelling three-wide near the rear from the widest draw. He continues to disappoint.
