Racing Incident Report
Race Three: (568) - TAI O HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
STRIVE FOR GLORY was very slow to begin.
Before being allowed to race again, STRIVE FOR GLORY will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test.
HAPPY TRIO began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of CIRCUIT SPLENDOR which in turn shifted out and bumped EVER FORCE.
CIRCUIT MIGHTY shifted in at the start and bumped IRON KING which lost ground.
From a wide barrier, ENCHANTING IBIS was shifted across behind runners in the early stages to obtain cover.
Near the 1150 Metres, HAPPY TRIO raced tight between DASSIT and CIRCUIT SPLENDOR which shifted in.
Passing the 1100 Metres, HAPPY TRIO and CIRCUIT SPLENDOR were crowded for room inside EVER FORCE which shifted in before being directed out abruptly to relieve the crowding to runners to its inside.
When EVER FORCE was shifted out, it was awkwardly placed inside the heels of STARRY NIGHT.
IRON KING travelled keenly in the middle stages.
Approaching the 600 Metres, JUMBO LEGEND raced tight outside CHICKEN DANCE which improved to the outside of HAPPY TRIO.
CHICKEN DANCE was then awkwardly placed close to the heels of CIRCUIT MIGHTY near the 550 Metres and passing the 500 Metres was bumped by HAPPY TRIO which shifted out.
CHICKEN DANCE then raced tight between JUMBO LEGEND and HAPPY TRIO rounding the Home Turn and on straightening as HAPPY TRIO attempted to improve to the outside of CIRCUIT MIGHTY.
DAZZLING FELLOW had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight and passing the 300 Metres was shifted to the inside of DASSIT to obtain clear running.
DAZZLING FELLOW was then held up for clear running after the 100 Metres behind STARRY NIGHT.
Because of this, DAZZLING FELLOW was not able to be fully tested over the concluding stages.
Passing the 300 Metres, CHICKEN DANCE raced tight inside JUMBO LEGEND which shifted in away from the heels of ENCHANTING IBIS (A Hamelin) which shifted in under pressure.
A Hamelin was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
Passing the 250 Metres, IRON KING was steadied when crowded for room between JUMBO LEGEND which shifted out and STRIVE FOR GLORY which, when laying in, shifted in before being directed out abruptly passing the 200 Metres.
As a result of having to be directed out, STRIVE FOR GLORY was unable to be ridden out for a number of strides.
After the race, A Badel stated that although CIRCUIT MIGHTY was required to race wide and without cover throughout, nonetheless he felt that the horse was disappointing in today's race in that it came under heavy pressure rounding the Home Turn and thereafter did not finish the race off.
He said he recommended to connections that they consider stepping the horse up in distance at its future starts based on the manner in which the horse performed over the 1200 Metres of today's race.
A veterinary inspection of CIRCUIT MIGHTY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

JUMBO LEGEND, ENCHANTING IBIS and STARRY NIGHT were sent for sampling.

Enchanting Ibis finished strongly to run down favourite Starry Night 100m out after a patient ride third last from a wide draw. It was a much-improved effort. Starry Knight just held on for second after turning the final bend two lengths on top leading from a wide draw. Strive For Glory came form a distant last after bombing the start to nearly grab second. It was clearly his best run from 19 starts following a gear change to pacifiers. Ever Force just finished out of the placings after a box-seat run. He's shown a bit more spark in his past two of four starts following a downgrade. Dazzling Fellow got going late for fifth after biding his time third last from a wide draw. It was a better run second-up. Dassit produced a grinding effort to finish next best after a midfield run. It was a slightly better effort at his seventh start but he's still destined for Class Five. Newcomer Jumbo Legend made only a mild bid after travelling one-off behind midfield from a wide draw as the favourite. He needed the outing. Happy Trio didn't click travelling one-off in midfield. The step up to 1,200m backfired after placing on debut over the straight 1,000m.
