Race Seven: (553) - THE SPRINT CUP - Class G2 - 1200Meters
LUCKY EXPRESS was slow to begin.
MASTER EIGHT shifted out at the start and inconvenienced COMPUTER PATCH.
From the outside barriers, SUPER WEALTHY and STRONGER were shifted across behind runners in the early stages to obtain cover.
At the 500 Metres, HOT KING PRAWN was awkwardly placed close to the heels of COMPUTER PATCH when being shifted to the outside of that horse.
After the 200 Metres, LUCKY EXPRESS was shifted to the inside of MASTER EIGHT to continue improving.
MASTER EIGHT, WELLINGTON and SIGHT SUCCESS were sent for sampling.

Despite drifting in betting, Wellington dashed well three from the right to collar Sight Success in the final few strides after a patient ride third last for a ninth win from 16 starts and back-to-back Group successes. Sight Success did everything right but get the win after briefly hitting the front 60m out chasing the speed in third. He continues his fine form this season despite being thrown in the deep end at Group level here. Favourite Master Eight found a couple too good in the run to the wire after chasing the leader Kurpany on the fence. It was another honest performance. Lucky Express ran on steadily to just get the head down for fourth after finding a spot in midfield on the fence following a tardy beginning. He's as honest as the day is long. Well-backed Hot King Prawn ran on steadily to just miss the frame after a one-off trip in midfield. He's beyond his better days. Backmarkers Super Wealthy and Stronger ran on without menacing down the outside. They required a faster pace. Kurpany weakened badly after getting his own way in front. He didn't handle the quick back-up off a midweek failure on the dirt.
