Recap by phillip woo
Odds-on favourite Flying Season drew clear for a convincing win after taking the bull by the horns to lead 800m out after a swift start. He's now won his past two of three starts despite a rise in class and can win again. Forte just edge Equaletta Blitz for second chasing the speed on the far side from a low draw. He was no match for the winner but it was another honest effort. Specked late Equaletta Blitz kept on gamely prompting the pace near the grandstand side to just miss a spot in the quinella. He did go all right in his only course-and-distance effort two back. Royal Pride came from last to fill the frame. He's hit the better with a step back in distance in his past two starts and will be a force to be reckoned with shortly in Class Four. Escape Route made ground late from near last without menacing the top-four. He's still to make an impact in his four starts but was having his first run since December. Trust Me was stopping 300m out after a prominent run. He's more effective over the 1,200m nowadays. United We Stand didn't have much in the run to the wire after leading for the first 200m. It was a disappointing effort at his second start this term.
