Recap by phillip woo

Buzzinga was green at the end but had things all parcelled up after hitting the front 250m out following a one-out, one-back run. It was fine effort on debut and he clearly has plenty more up his sleeve. Raging favourite Voyage Bubble came on nicely two from the right to finish a clear-cut second after a patient ride one-off behind midfield. He found one too smart on this occasion. The Hulk came from last and widest to fill a placing. He relished a return to the course and distance of a win in January. Ready To Win got going to fill a first-four spot after a one-off run in midfield. It was a better effort after misfiring on a wet track last start following a win. Pins Prince kept on evenly after a wide with cover run in midfield. He continues to finish around the mark in his past three runs after a win. River Views faded after dictating the run. The change in tactics failed to reap rewards and he'll need more time to settle in. Here Comes Ted found nothing after a box-seat run. He had placed when last stepping out in January over this trip but likely needed the outing after having a swollen leg 36 days back.

Racing Incident Report

Race Seven: (516) - LUGER HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters

MOONLIGHT VISTA shifted in at the start and brushed RIVER VIEWS.

WE ARE HERO shifted out on jumping and bumped TRUST ME.

Near the 950 Metres, RIVER VIEWS shifted out and inconvenienced WE ARE HERO and TRUST ME.

Approaching and passing the 700 Metres, PINS PRINCE travelled keenly and was awkwardly placed behind TRUST ME.

At the entrance to the Straight, TRUST ME was bumped by BUZZINGA which shifted to the outside of WE ARE HERO to obtain clear running.

Passing the 400 Metres, VOYAGE BUBBLE was struck across the nose by the whip of J Moreira (PINS PRINCE).

Over the final 200 Metres, READY TO WIN lay in under pressure.

Close to the finishing line, BUZZINGA, which was having its first race start in Hong Kong today, shifted out abruptly.

When questioned, Z Purton stated that it was intended for VOYAGE BUBBLE to be ridden in a forward position today.

He said VOYAGE BUBBLE was fractious in the barriers and then as the start was effected lifted its front feet off the ground which resulted in the horse beginning only fairly.

He said he rode his mount along in the early stages to improve its position, however, VOYAGE BUBBLE did not show sufficient early speed to be able to obtain as forward a position as had been hoped and therefore after the 1100 Metres he steadied his mount to obtain cover so as not to race unnecessarily wide.

He added that VOYAGE BUBBLE travelled well in the middle stages, however, after being placed under pressure in the Straight hung in and proved difficult to ride.

He said VOYAGE BUBBLE also wanted to lay in at its most recent start, however, over the latter stages the horse had the rail as a guide whereas in today's race VOYAGE BUBBLE had to make its finishing run towards the centre of the track.

When questioned, V Borges stated that he was instructed to lead on TRUST ME today.

He said despite being vigorously ridden along for a considerable distance in the early stages, TRUST ME did not show sufficient speed to be able to cross runners to its inside and therefore approaching the 1000 Metres he elected to obtain a position with cover.

He said due to the makeup of the field making the first turn he was not able to obtain a trailing position and consequently raced wide and without cover throughout.

A veterinary inspection of TRUST ME immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on MOONLIGHT VISTA at the request of Trainer C S Shum.

The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.

Before being allowed to race again, MOONLIGHT VISTA will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of HERE COMES TED immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

BUZZINGA and VOYAGE BUBBLE were sent for sampling.
