Racing Incident Report
Race Seven: (507) - CHESTER HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters
KILLER INSTINCT lifted its front feet off the ground as the start was effected and was then crowded for room between EASON and GOLDEN LINK, both of which shifted ground.
STOICISM stumbled badly at the start and then was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
From a wide barrier, RHAPSODY was also steadied in the early stages to obtain cover.
After travelling a short distance, SUCCESS FIGHTER and EASON bumped.
Making the turn near the 1050 Metres, MERCURIAL was bumped by TEAM SPIRIT which was in turn bumped by WINE AND WINE which shifted in.
Passing the 800 Metres, STOCK LEGEND and SUCCESS FIGHTER bumped.
SUCCESS FIGHTER then became unbalanced approaching the 600 Metres when being checked away from the heels of EASON.
RHAPSODY, which was following, was hampered in consequence.
Passing the 250 Metres, V Borges (RHAPSODY) dropped his whip.
SUCCESS FIGHTER lost its right front plate after the race.
A veterinary inspection of TEAM SPIRIT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
EASON and STOCK LEGEND were sent for sampling.

Odds-on favourite Eason responded nicely when asked for an effort following a one-off run in midfield to win going away 150m out. He's done very little wrong in his five career starts and can head higher. Stock Legend ran on nicely near the outside to grab second close to home after making his run four back on the fence. He's always a chance over this Valley trip and did have the services of Zac Purton. Wine And Wine grudgingly gave way to hold third after turning the final bend two lengths on top leading from the widest draw. He did hold on for a placing last start in Class Four and was gifted an easy time in front. Golden Link kept plugging away after a prominent run on the fence to just miss a placing. He went OK trying the Valley 1,200m for the first time. Punted late, Killer Instinct got going late after making his run two from the rear following a sluggish start. It was one of his better efforts in Class Three after a confidence-building success in Class Four. Mercurial weakened after a prominent run. He was just not good enough with a return to Class Three following a win in Class Four. Rhapsody only got by struggling rivals from near last in his first run back following a bleeding attack in October.
