Racing Incident Report
Race One: (482) - YUE WAN HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1800Meters
AGILITY STAR and FULL POWER bumped on jumping.
SPEED FORCE shifted out at the start, resulting in FORTUNE TRIPLE being taken out onto DIONYSUS COLLIN.
Then from wide barriers, FORTUNE TRIPLE and DIONYSUS COLLIN were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
From the outside barriers, LUCKY MISSILE and OWNERS' STAR were also steadied to obtain cover shortly after the start.
Approaching the winning post on the first occasion, FORTUNE TRIPLE was awkwardly placed close to the heels of AGILITY STAR.
Also approaching the winning post on the first occasion, LUCKY MISSILE and DIONYSUS COLLIN bumped as a result of LUCKY MISSILE shifting in.
Then passing the winning post on the first occasion, DIONYSUS COLLIN got its head up when awkwardly placed behind FORTUNE TRIPLE.
Near the 1250 Metres, DIONYSUS COLLIN then raced tight between OWNERS' STAR and LUCKY MISSILE (J Moreira) which shifted in.
J Moreira was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
Passing the winning post on the first occasion, SPEED FORCE was left racing wide and without cover and approaching the 1300 Metres was allowed to improve to race outside the lead passing the 1000 Metres.
Rounding the Home Turn, WONDER WIN became badly unbalanced and lost ground when momentarily racing tight inside FULL POWER (B Shinn) which shifted in marginally.
Whilst the Stewards were of the opinion that the shift inwards from FULL POWER was slight, nonetheless B Shinn was advised to ensure that he makes every endeavour to prevent his mounts from shifting ground in similar circumstances.
TELECOM CHEETAH, which was following WONDER WIN, was hampered in consequence.
R Maia (PRIME STAR) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 200 Metres he permitted his mount to shift out when not clear of PRESIDENT STAR, resulting in that horse being hampered and losing the running to which it was rightfully entitled.
R Maia was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Wednesday, 30 March 2022 and to expire on Monday, 4 April 2022 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays).
In addition, Jockey Maia was fined $30,000.
A veterinary inspection of DIONYSUS COLLIN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
TELECOM CHEETAH and LUCKY MISSILE were sent for sampling.

Telecom Cheetah finished nicely after straightening four deep travelling four back on the fence to finish level for the win. It was clearly his best run to date with a riding change to Zac Purton. Favourite Lucky Missile came from near last and down the outside to dead-heat with Telecom Cheetah for the win after biding his time second last from a wide draw. Lucky Missile's result was overdue after knocking on the door in his past three starts. Speed Force was just collared late after rolling forward three deep from a tricky gate to shade Wah May Luck for the lead 1,000m out. It was a solid run in defeat with a return to the turf after a win and second from three prior runs on the dirt. Owners' Star rallied well to fill the frame settling near last from the widest draw. He's capable on his day and was stepping out off a new low in the ratings. After firming late in betting to start a clear second pick, Wonder Win came up rather one-paced when asked for an effort 500m out after a box-seat run. He had no excuse. Wah May Luck knocked up 100m out after getting pestered up front. He's not far off a bottom. Prime Star ran on without menacing after a rails run better than midfield.
