Above responded well when popped the question to take control 150m out after slotting into a lovely spot one-off with cover in fourth. He was aimed for this race and only had a pound more to carry after winning back in December. Vincy came on well to grab second 20m out after finding a spot third last on the fence. It was a return to form over his preferred Valley 2,200m. Blastoise stayed on well for a placing after getting a lovely run in the box-seat. He's better suited over a shorter trip. Firming favourite Exceptional Nice took the lead from Fast Pace 250m out following a pace-stalking run but peaked on his effort 100m out. The mile and 1,800m suits him better but it was another honest performance. God Of Dragon ran on without menacing after a rails run in midfield. He remains on his mark after two earlier wins this term. Nordic Sky only plodded after a one-off run in midfield. He's limited. S J Tourbillon didn't get involved after showing no speed travelling one from the back. It was another ordinary performance despite a rise in trip. Winning Dragon's move from last at the 600m was short-lived. He's been struggling to acclimatise in his four starts at both tracks. Fast Pace didn't get the trip after dictating the run.

Racing Incident Report

Race Two: (426) - FOUNTAIN PALM HANDICAP - Class 3 - 2200Meters

VINCY began only fairly.

From an outside barrier, WINNING DRAGON was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.

Near the 2000 Metres, NORDIC SKY got its head up when awkwardly placed behind BLASTOISE.

After this, NORDIC SKY continued to travel keenly and again got its head up approaching the 1800 Metres when steadied to avoid the heels of ABOVE (R Maia) which shifted in when not properly clear.

R Maia was advised that whilst the Stewards were satisfied that the racing manners of NORDIC SKY had played a part in this incident, nonetheless he was severely reprimanded and told to ensure that he gives proper clearance prior to shifting ground in similar circumstances.

After this, NORDIC SKY continued to race with its head up for some distance.

After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that FAST PACE was making an abnormal breathing noise.

A veterinary inspection of FAST PACE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

EXCEPTIONAL NICE, ABOVE and VINCY were sent for sampling.
