Racing Incident Report
Race Eight: (316) - CLEVELAND HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters
EQUILIBRIUM TURBO began only fairly.
FAMILY FOLKS and YOU'REMYEVERYTHING brushed on jumping.
HIGH RISE SOLDIER shifted in at the start and brushed JOLLY GOOD HEART.
After this, from a wide barrier, HIGH RISE SOLDIER was steadied and shifted across behind runners, however, travelled wide and without cover throughout the race.
From the outside barriers, EXCELLENT CHARIOT and HARMONY N HOME were also steadied to obtain cover shortly after the start.
Passing the 1000 Metres, EQUILIBRIUM TURBO and YOU'REMYEVERYTHING raced tight, resulting in YOU'REMYEVERYTHING shifting out and inconveniencing KILLER INSTINCT.
Passing the 300 Metres, EXCELLENT CHARIOT was directed to the inside of YOU'REMYEVERYTHING to continue improving.
When questioned, C L Chau stated that he had to make considerable use of JOLLY GOOD HEART from a wide barrier to clear SPECIAL M to his inside and obtain the lead as instructed.
He said after shifting across to race in the lead after the 1000 Metres, JOLLY GOOD HEART proved very difficult to settle and would not relax as he had hoped.
He said as he was aware that JOLLY GOOD HEART was opening up a significant break over the remainder of the field, he attempted to steady his mount more forcefully near the 850 Metres, however, JOLLY GOOD HEART got its head up and would not respond to his attempts to have it race more generously.
He added rather than continue to fight his mount, he attempted to steady the tempo without unduly restraining JOLLY GOOD HEART.
He said however JOLLY GOOD HEART continued to race fiercely and because of this then weakened noticeably over the concluding stages.
A veterinary inspection of YOU'REMYEVERYTHING immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
A veterinary inspection of GOODLUCK GOODLUCK immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm.
Before being allowed to race again, GOODLUCK GOODLUCK will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
YOU'REMYEVERYTHING, THE RUNNER and SPECIAL M were sent for sampling.

The Runner dashed strongly to take control 50m out after a prominent run to ring up a fourth career win over this trip. The writing had been on the wall in two prior starts. Punted late Special M stayed on nicely for second after settling a distant third one off the fence. He's not easy to get right but did relish a return to the course of a win two back over the 1,000m. Excellent Chariot rallied strongly to fill a placing after settling last from a wide draw. He's a winner waiting to happen following placings in three straight runs over this course. Family Folks ran on steadily after a one-off run behind midfield to fill the frame. He's pretty honest over this Valley trip. Favourite You'remyeverything made some ground three from the right without ever looking a chance after coming under pressure 500m out settling fifth last from a middle draw. Equilibrium Turbo worked to the line reasonably well to nearly pick up a pay slip after travelling fourth last along the fence. It was a lot better effort second up with a move o a hood. Well-backed late Jolly Good Heart knocked up quickly after blazing his way to a near five-length advantage rounding the final bend. It was a poorly rated ride by Jerry Chau Chun-lok.
