Dragon Pride rallied nicely to take control 50m out after a patient ride second last from a wide draw. He relished the rise in trip after catching the eye first up in October off a long break and can win again if he stays healthy. Favourite Sunny Baby ran on steadily to just edge Super Kin for second after get his chance one off in midfield. He was given every chance. Super Kin was nicely rated in front but found a couple too smart in the end. He's been pretty consistent this season at both tracks. Gorgeous Inheritor came from last and widest out to spice up the Quartet. It was his best run to date from 11 starts with a return to Sha Tin. Ingenious Fellow finished well one from the right after straightening with only one behind him to just miss out on a first-four spot. It was clearly his best outing from seven starts with a return to the turf after three straight failures on the dirt. Amazement came up one-paced after getting held up behind the leaders until the 300m following a box-seat run. He continues to disappoint. Fox Cheunger never let down after travelling deep with cover behind midfield. He's produced mixed results this term. Plunged late Red Brick Glory faded after pressing the pace deep without cover.

Racing Incident Report

Race Two: (281) - CYCLING 1400M HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1400Meters

M F Poon (GORGEOUS INHERITOR) was fined $2,000 for initially presenting himself to be weighed out with the incorrect saddle cloth number.

SPARKLING STAR lifted its front feet off the ground as the start was effected and began awkwardly.

DRAGON PRIDE and SPLENDID TIMING bumped on jumping.

After this, DRAGON PRIDE and SPLENDID TIMING were shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.

BIG BANG BONG began only fairly.

SPLENDID TIMING was taken wider and without cover approaching the 700 Metres when FOX CHEUNGER shifted out away from the heels of SUNNY BABY.

Then passing the 600 Metres, FOX CHEUNGER raced tight outside the heels of SUNNY BABY.

Approaching and passing the 700 Metres, BIG BANG BONG was awkwardly placed behind AFTER ME.

AMAZEMENT was held up for clear running in the early part of the Straight.

SPARKLING STAR had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight and after the 200 Metres was steadied when disappointed for running between AMAZEMENT and ALEE KING PRAWN.

AFTER ME was unable to obtain clear running from near the 300 Metres until approaching the 100 Metres at which time the horse was shifted out a number of horses to obtain clear running.

SPLENDID TIMING lost its left front plate at the 300 Metres.

Near the 150 Metres, FOX CHEUNGER raced tight inside SPLENDID TIMING which shifted in under pressure.

Over the concluding stages, INGENIOUS FELLOW raced tight inside GORGEOUS INHERITOR.

Throughout the race, RED BRICK GLORY travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground.

A veterinary inspection of SPARKLING STAR immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.

On return to the stable, SPARKLING STAR was then noted to have blood present at both nostrils.

An endoscopic examination conducted on SPARKLING STAR confirmed the horse to have bled.

After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that FOX CHEUNGER had blood at its right nostril.

An endoscopic examination of FOX CHEUNGER confirmed the horse to have bled.

DRAGON PRIDE and SUNNY BABY were sent for sampling.
