Second favourite All Beauty just overhauled Perfect Pair in the final few metres for the win after making his run on the fence in midfield for a second win from six starts. It's taken a couple of runs for him to find his mark in this grade and he might have to tools to win another down the line. Perfect Pair quickly found the front and nearly stole the race after straightening two lengths on top. He's pretty honest over this trip and was fitter for a first-up effort 22 days back. Favourite Master Hero just held on for third without menacing the top-two after a one-out, one-back run. He had every chance and the big weight following a win took its toll. Circuit Mighty gave a better sight chasing the speed to nearly place at massive odds. It was a much-improved effort third-up. Maldives ran on without menacing after fading back to travelling third last from a wide draw. He needs a faster pace. Horsesain Bolt came from last to finish next best. He remains a non-winner in his 14 runs but it was another honest effort. Plunged late Pleasant Endeavor never got into the act from towards the rear. He's itching for a return to Class Four.

Racing Incident Report

Race Ten: (289) - KARATE 1400M HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1400Meters

ALL BEAUTY shifted out on jumping and inconvenienced BORN THE SAME DAY.

BEAUTY NOVA shifted in on jumping and brushed LUCKY GOLD.

BEAUTY NOVA then became unbalanced, shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of LIFELINE VISION.

HORSESAIN BOLT was crowded for room on jumping between MALDIVES and PLEASANT ENDEAVOR, both of which shifted ground.

After this, PLEASANT ENDEAVOR, HORSESAIN BOLT and MALDIVES were all shifted across behind runners from the outside barriers.

Shortly after the start, ALL BEAUTY was crowded for room outside APACHE PASS and inside BORN THE SAME DAY which at this time was steadied away from the heels of PERFECT PAIR (H N Wong) which shifted in when not properly clear.

In this incident, BORN THE SAME DAY became unbalanced after being bumped on the hindquarters by ALL BEAUTY.

H N Wong was told to exercise more care when shifting ground in similar circumstances.

Approaching the 1200 Metres, LIFELINE VISION was awkwardly placed behind THE HULK which was being steadied in an attempt to obtain cover.

When THE HULK was not able to obtain cover, it was allowed to improve its position after the 1100 Metres, however, continued to travel wide and without cover.

After the 1200 Metres, ALL BEAUTY momentarily raced in restricted room inside ARTHUR'S KINGDOM which shifted in before being shifted back out to relieve the crowding.

APACHE PASS travelled keenly after the 1200 Metres.

After the race, R Maia reported that LUCKY GOLD, which was having its first race start in Hong Kong today, lost ground after the 700 Metres when reluctant to maintain its position outside ARTHUR'S KINGDOM and APACHE PASS.

When LUCKY GOLD lost ground, MALDIVES was awkwardly placed behind that horse after the 600 Metres.

BORN THE SAME DAY got its head on the side and lay out rounding the Home Turn and was momentarily crowded for room on straightening between THE HULK and MASTER HERO which shifted out.

After the 200 Metres, CIRCUIT MIGHTY raced tight outside the heels of ALL BEAUTY which got its head on the side and shifted out under pressure.

After this, ALL BEAUTY continued to lay out.

After the race, V Borges stated that after overcoming the wide barrier by shifting PLEASANT ENDEAVOR across behind runners in the early stages, his mount travelled well in the early and middle stages and he anticipated that PLEASANT ENDEAVOR would finish off the race well.

He said he commenced to improve his position after the 600 Metres, however, PLEASANT ENDEAVOR did not quicken as he expected and he was required to ride the horse vigorously after the 500 Metres.

He added, despite being ridden along in the Straight, PLEASANT ENDEAVOR was very disappointing in its failure to respond to his riding and to finish off the race.

A veterinary inspection of PLEASANT ENDEAVOR immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

MASTER HERO, ALL BEAUTY and PERFECT PAIR were sent for sampling.
