Racing Incident Report
Race Six: (266) - LUKFOOK JEWELLERY DEAR Q HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters
MEGA HEART began only fairly.
BIRDSVILLE shifted out at the start and bumped SKYEY SUPREME, resulting in SKYEY SUPREME becoming unbalanced and shifting in, causing BIRDSVILLE to be taken in onto MEGA HEART which was inconvenienced.
From the outside barriers, AMAZING CHOCOLATE and ELON were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Making the turn near the 700 Metres, SKYEY SUPREME lay in towards the running rail and became unbalanced.
Also making the turn near the 700 Metres, MEGA HEART was brushed by JAZZ STEED which was racing tight inside ELON.
After the 700 Metres, GUNNISON was left racing wide and without cover.
Approaching the 500 Metres, MAGIC SUPREME and FLYING GENIUS bumped as MAGIC SUPREME commenced to shift to the outside of FLYING BONUS.
When initially unable to improve to the outside of FLYING BONUS, MAGIC SUPREME was awkwardly placed close to the heels of that horse.
At the entrance to the Straight, MAGIC SUPREME shifted out and bumped FLYING GENIUS.
After the race, C L Chau was not able to offer any explanation for the disappointing performance of QUADRUPLE DOUBLE.
He said the horse travelled well in the early and middle stages, but came under heavy pressure prior to and rounding the Home Turn and then, despite being ridden along in the Straight, did not close off the race.
A veterinary inspection of QUADRUPLE DOUBLE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

GUNNISON and MAGIC SUPREME were sent for sampling.

Gunnison just got up in the last stride to deny late-fancied favourite Magic Supreme despite a wide without cover run better than midfield from a tricky gate. He did fail with inappetence last start but was a winner and placed in two of three other all-weather-track runs this term. Magic Supreme did everything right but get the win after surging to the lead 300m out following a dream run. He's racing well on this surface. Elon ran on well near the outside to clearly take third after a patient ride towards the rear. It was another good run after winning last start at the Valley. Amazing Chocolate ran on nicely down the outside settling last from a wide gate to share fourth with early favourite Harmony Spirit. He was well rated with a return to the course and distance of a win 12 months back. Harmony Spirit came up one-paced over the last 100m after a one-off trip behind midfield. He's honest but was under the odds after failing to salute in 17 prior starts. Skyey Supreme made some ground after a rails run behind midfield following a sluggish start. He needs to lead and the trip was too short. Birdsville weakened in the run to the wire after a rails run fore of midfield trying the dirt. He needs more time to settle in.
