Recap by phillip woo
Favourite Loves Only You was desperate for a run after a one-off trip better than midfield but responded nicely to overhaul compatriot Hishi Iguazu 60m out when things opened up 200m out. She ends a brilliant career with Group One wins in the United States and Hong Kong. Hishi Iguazu found one just too smart after rallying nicely down the outside to get the head in front 100m out after a patient ride second last from a wide draw. He's just another stalwart from the Land of the Rising Sun. Russian Emperor found a couple just too good after quickening nicely to lead 350m out following a wide with cover run in midfield. He might have went for home too early but it was a huge run against some of the world's best. Punted late Dubai Honour got going late to fill the frame after biding his time third from the rear. It was a good run. Tourbillon Diamond ran on reasonably well after being ridden for luck at the rear from an outside draw. It was another solid effort up in class and distance after a last-start win over 1,800m. Berlin Tango just held his ground after a one-off trip behind midfield. This was too rich for his blood. You can forget the run of Panfield who was badly impeded 350m out and eased down soon after.
