Recap by phillip woo
Old-timer Fast Most Furious showed his class to overhaul odds-on favourite Master Delight near the 100m despite top weight for the win. He was able to build on a near win two back behind Lucky Express and was reunited with his favourite rider Zac Purton. Master Delight reclaimed a narrow lead 200m out after settling one off in second behind the leader All For St Paul's but found one better on the day. The change in tactics didn't pan out. Senor Toba dashed late to just deny All For St Paul's to finish a close third after making his run at the rear following a slow start. He relished the extra 200m after a good debut run last month. Well-backed All For St Paul's gradually faded after emerging as expected with the lead over Master Delight 1,200m out. He doesn't know how to run a bad race over this trip. California Ten was blocked for most the straight after a rails run better than midfield. He should have finished closer. Conqueror ran on late to finished well two from the right after a patient ride third last to just miss a pay slip. It was a pleasing effort to start the season. Punted late Beauty Fit never landed a blow travelling towards the rear. He's not easy to get right.
