Recap by phillip woo
Post-time favourite Awe was too smart after hitting the front 200m out following a lovely run in the box-seat. The win was overdue after filling the frame in his past two starts. Early favourite Go Ballistic was gifted an easy time in front and kept on gamely off a light weight to finish a clear-cut second. It was a solid effort after ringing up a second win from his past three runs in Class Five. Lucky Diamond kept on one-paced without ever looking a danger opting to take the sit outside the leader. The combination of a rise in trip and weight took its toll after back-to-back wins. Champion Pal made some ground to fill the frame after a rails run in midfield. He has shown some progress after a downgrade and step up in distance in his past two starts. Unite Spirit only got by beaten rivals from near last in the seven-horse field. He's better on the dirt. Victorious Seeker found nothing after a prominent run. He was carrying nine pounds more and the 19-day back up following a win over the Sha Tin 2,000m may have come too quick. Kungfumaster Panda made no impression from the rear. He's not racing well and wasn't suited by the slow pace.
