Star Performance really got going over the last 200m to grab victory 60m out after settling one off in midfield. It's been a long time between drinks but he was well rated and appreciated a move to blinkers. Favourite Lucky Fun just got the better of Fearless Fire late for second after settling fourth along the fence. He continues to add to his impressive record. Fearless Fire stayed on nicely for a placing at long odds following a speed-chasing run. It was one of his better efforts in the grade after winning three times in Class Four last season. Hall Of Champ made a good bid late to just take fourth after getting dragged back to travel third last and deep on the track 800m out from an outside draw. He just wasn't good enough from gate 13. Parterre gave a decent sight after quickly spearing to the lead from a wide draw. He's still acclimatising but it was a better performance. Super Oasis ran on without menacing deepest on the track after settling deep with cover behind midfield. Well-backed Beauty Legacy made only a mild bid when asked for an effort following a one-off trip behind midfield. He continues to disappoint.

Racing Incident Report

Race Nine: (9) - SUNSET PEAK HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1400Meters

On arrival at the Start, the tongue tie worn by STAR PERFORMANCE was refitted.

When being loaded into the barriers, STAR PERFORMANCE threw its head up, making contact with the face of its rider, K Teetan.

K Teetan was examined by the Chief Medical Officer who said in his opinion Jockey Teetan was suitable to fulfil his race riding engagement.

PRESENCE shifted out at the start, resulting in KASI FARASI being crowded for room inside FEARLESS FIRE.

NOBLE STEED began only fairly.

STAR PERFORMANCE shifted out at the start and bumped BEAUTY LEGACY.

From the outside barrier, HALL OF CHAMP was steadied in the early stages to obtain cover.

LINCOLN BRIGHT began awkwardly and then from a wide barrier was steadied in the early stages to obtain cover.

When being shifted across behind runners, LINCOLN BRIGHT travelled keenly and approaching and passing the 1000 Metres continued to prove very difficult to settle when racing behind NOBLE STEED and BEAUTY LEGACY.

Then near the 900 Metres, LINCOLN BRIGHT shifted in and bumped NOBLE STEED which became unbalanced.

At the 400 Metres, HALL OF CHAMP was awkwardly placed behind PRESENCE when shifted to the outside of that horse to obtain clear running.

After the 100 Metres, STAR PERFORMANCE shifted in towards LUCKY FUN, resulting in K Teetan, the rider of STAR PERFORMANCE, having to stop riding and correct his mount.

Throughout the race, MISSION BRAVO travelled wide and without cover.

STAR PERFORMANCE and LUCKY FUN were sent for sampling.
