Racing Incident Report
Race Two: (2) - LANTAU PEAK HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1000Meters
GOOD VIEW CLARICO lifted its front feet off the ground as the start was effected and stumbled a short distance later.
GREEN AEON was tightened for room on jumping between CALIFORNIA CONCORD and SUPER WIN DRAGON which shifted in.
Passing the 200 Metres, CALIFORNIA CONCORD was awkwardly placed when improving outside the heels of ROCK YA HEART which shifted out marginally under pressure.
CALIFORNIA CONCORD then got its head on the side and lay out and near the 100 Metres was reluctant to improve to the inside of FIRST RESPONDER.
Passing the 100 Metres, Apprentice C L Chau (FIRST RESPONDER) dropped his whip.
A veterinary inspection of SUPER AXIOM immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its right front leg.
Before being allowed to race again, SUPER AXIOM will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of SUPER WIN DRAGON immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
SUPER AXIOM, FIRST RESPONDER and ROCK YA HEART were sent for sampling.

First Responder got up 30m out for the win after settling midfield near the far side following a sluggish start. He continued to add to some solid late season form and upped his record to four wins from five rides under Jerry Chau Chun-lok. Rock Ya Heart stayed on well to finish a close second following a prominent run travelling just underneath the winner. It was a much-improved effort at just his third local start trying the straight 1,000m for the first time. Punted late Quadruple Double just lost out on a quinella spot chasing the speed in the center of the track. He'll be a force to be reckoned with next time out preferably over the 1,200m. Well-backed late California Concord closed well from last to fill the frame. It was a good run but is another better suited over the 1,200m. Favourite Super Axiom showed terrific gate speed to lead by three lengths at one point but hit a brick wall passing the 50m. He was beaten less than a length in the end and can get away with a race shortly. Good View Clarico never really featured after settling last at one point travelling on the far side. The big weight took its toll.
