Well-backed late to jump favourite, Seven Heavens drew clear after moving to the front 400m out chasing the speed from a middle gate for a second career win. He rarely produces a bad run at either track and had things fall into place on this occasion. Early favourite Sparkling Dolphin held on late for second after dictating the run on the grandstand side from a wide draw. He can steal a race shortly. Newcomer G One Excellent stayed on well travelling midfield to grab a placing 80m out. It was a pleasing effort on debut and there's clearly something for connections to work with. Baltic Whisper held his ground after a prominent run. It was a slightly better performance with a return to his favourite straight 1,000m. Carry The Diamond produced a grinding result following a handy run on the stand side. He's only gone OK twice following a win in Class Five. Loriz held his ground travelling better than midfield near the stand side. He's more effective at the Valley. Wild West Wing weakened over the last 150m sitting near the speed from a middle gate. He's in the right grade but is clearly more effective at the Valley.

Racing Incident Report

Race Two: (729) - MEI TIN HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1000Meters

CORRIENTHES was withdrawn on 5.6.21 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (right front tendon injury) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter LORIZ (Apprentice C L Chau).

Before being allowed to race again, CORRIENTHES will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

On arrival at the Start, the tongue tie applied to G ONE EXCELLENT was replaced.

G ONE EXCELLENT and AHEAD A HEAD bumped at the start.

G ONE EXCELLENT was then momentarily awkwardly placed close to the heels of WILD WEST WING shortly after the start when that horse shifted in.

SPARKLING DOLPHIN began awkwardly and shifted out, resulting in LORIZ being taken out onto HEROIC CHAMPION which was in turn taken out onto CARRY THE DIAMOND.

BALTIC WHISPER began awkwardly and then was bumped by SEVEN HEAVENS which shifted out.

WINNING GLORY was shifted across behind runners in the early stages and subsequently finished tailed out.

A veterinary inspection of WINNING GLORY immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from both nostrils and also to be lame in its left hind leg.

Before being allowed to race again, WINNING GLORY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Passing the 900 Metres, MILLENNIUM FALCON became badly unbalanced of its own accord when racing tight outside CARRY THE DIAMOND.

When MILLENNIUM FALCON became unbalanced, it shifted in and bumped the hindquarters of CARRY THE DIAMOND which then became unbalanced and got its head on the side and lay out which further crowded the racing room of MILLENNIUM FALCON.

As the Stewards were of the opinion that there was no rider carelessness associated with this incident, no further action was taken.

BALTIC WHISPER lay out under pressure approaching the 300 Metres.

LORIZ had some difficulty obtaining clear running passing the 150 Metres.

MILLENNIUM FALCON was unable to obtain clear running over the final 50 Metres and consequently was not able to be ridden out to the end of the race.

A veterinary inspection of WILD WEST WING immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

SEVEN HEAVENS and SPARKLING DOLPHIN were sent for sampling.
