Racing Incident Report
Race One: (623) - LYTTELTON HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1650Meters
RED MAJESTY began awkwardly, shifted out and inconvenienced SPEED TO EXCEED which began only fairly.
EVEN KEEL and WONDER EXPRESS bumped at the start.
BLAZING PARTNERS shifted in on jumping and bumped SMART COUSIN.
BRAVE POWER was bumped by KEEP WINNING which shifted in at the start.
After this, KEEP WINNING was shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.
From the outside barriers, DIAMOND STAR and LAOS ENLIGHTENMENT were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Approaching the 1200 Metres, BLAZING PARTNERS travelled keenly when being steadied.
Near the 1000 Metres, DIAMOND STAR was left racing wide and without cover.
Rounding the Home Turn, SHANGHAI GRACE shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of RED MAJESTY.
A veterinary inspection of SMART COUSIN and SPEED TO EXCEED immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
RED MAJESTY and WONDER EXPRESS were sent for sampling.

Favourite Red Majesty kept on nicely for the win after reclaiming the front 300m out after settling one off in second from the 1,000m. He had put the writing on the wall last Wednesday and relished a step-up to the mile. Wonder Express just out-finished Apolar Warrior for second after a box-seat run. He is well rated and took full advantage of a good draw. Apolar Warrior ran on steadily to just miss second by a lip after saving ground in midfield. He's shown progress in three of four starts following a downgrade and can bob up at any moment. Punted late, Even Keel stayed on a non-threatening fourth following a one-off run in midfield. It was another positive effort following a similar result a fortnight back over the 1,800m. In the market late, Blazing Partners came up one-paced after chasing the speed one off in third. He's better suited over the 1,400m. Speed To Exceed ran on without menacing after settling four from the rear. He should find his mark shortly in this grade. Smart Cousin stayed on without ever looking a threat following a one-off run behind midfield. He's in the right class again but prefers a longer trip.
