Fearless Fire kept up a strong gallop for the win carrying top weight after circling the field three wide in midfield to lead 800m out. He's defied tough runs to win three times this season. Seaweed Fortune swooped late down the outside to grab second after biding his time at the rear of the field. He's building towards a win in back-to-back runs over this course and distance. Favourite Savvy Kingman ran on steadily to grab a placing after switching out of a jam 250m out in midfield. V Chevaliers stayed on well to fill the frame after a prominent run. It was another honest effort but he doesn't have many points in hand off his current mark. Mister Arm gradually faded after handing up the lead to the eventual winner. The three-year-old's shown a bit more spark in his past two starts but is still a work in progress. Swift Spirit ran on without menacing travelling second from the rear. He went a shade better following a downgrade here. Zhan Jiang Rocks produced a mild bid near the inside after getting held up for a run early straight travelling worse than midfield along the inside. He requires rating relief.

Racing Incident Report

Race Five: (608) - EDINBURGH HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1650Meters

From the outside barriers, ZHAN JIANG ROCKS, SEAWEED FORTUNE and SWIFT SPIRIT were all steadied and shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Approaching the winning post on the first occasion, SWOT TROOPERS WIND was momentarily awkwardly placed inside the heels of V CHEVALIERS.

In the early stages, FEARLESS FIRE was left racing wide and without cover and after the 1200 Metres was allowed to improve its position to race in a more forward position closer to the rail.

Passing the 1300 Metres, PURE LEGEND shifted out after being awkwardly placed close to the heels of FEARLESS FIRE.

After the 1000 Metres, PURE LEGEND was left racing wide and without cover.

Also after the 1000 Metres, SWOT TROOPERS WIND became unbalanced when momentarily crowded for room inside SAVVY KINGMAN which lay in away from FEARLESS FIRE as that horse improved around SAVVY KINGMAN.

Near the 850 Metres, SWOT TROOPERS WIND was awkwardly placed when reluctant to maintain its position inside SAVVY KINGMAN.

Passing the 450 Metres, SAVVY KINGMAN lost ground after becoming unbalanced as a result of momentarily racing in restricted room inside MISTER ARM and PURE LEGEND (H Bentley) which shifted in marginally.

H Bentley was advised that whilst the Stewards accepted that PURE LEGEND did not shift a great amount of ground at this stage, he was told to ensure that, wherever appropriate circumstances permit, he allows comfortable racing room for runners on his inside.

SWOT TROOPERS WIND, which was racing inside SAVVY KINGMAN, was hampered in consequence.

ZHAN JIANG ROCKS was also awkwardly placed close to the heels of SAVVY KINGMAN in this incident.

ZHAN JIANG ROCKS then had some difficulty obtaining clear running passing the 400 Metres.

Passing the 300 Metres, SAVVY KINGMAN was steadied away from the heels of PURE LEGEND when disappointed for running between MISTER ARM and PURE LEGEND which shifted in.

ZHAN JIANG ROCKS, which was following SAVVY KINGMAN, was shifted in away from the heels of that horse in consequence.

H Bentley was advised that whilst the Stewards were of the opinion that SAVVY KINGMAN had not established running between MISTER ARM and PURE LEGEND at the time that PURE LEGEND shifted in, he was nonetheless told to ensure that he makes every endeavour to prevent his mounts from shifting ground in similar circumstances.

After being disappointed for running inside PURE LEGEND, SAVVY KINGMAN was shifted to the outside of that horse near the 250 Metres to obtain clear running.

Near the 150 Metres and again close to the finishing line, ZHAN JIANG ROCKS raced tight inside the heels of MISTER ARM.

A veterinary inspection of PURE LEGEND and SWOT TROOPERS WIND immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

SAVVY KINGMAN, FEARLESS FIRE and SEAWEED FORTUNE were sent for sampling.
