Recap by phillip woo
Favourite Charity Fun settled one-off worse than midfield, peeled out three deep to follow the move of Elite Patch 800m out and finished strongly to win going away. He's now won three of five and appears to have more up his sleeve. Savaquin finished well down the outside to grab second in the final few strides after a patient ride fourth last from a wide draw. He's racing well and the step up to 1,800m nearly paid off. Punted late, Green Luck just missed out on second prize following a handy run along the fence. It was a good run following a win. Berlin Tango ran on well from towards the rear to fill the frame. He seems to have a knack for the Valley and requires a longer trip. Tsar came up one-paced following a handy run. He's still acclimatising and might prefer to be ridden more quietly. Lakeshore Eagle ran on without menacing from the rear of the field. It wasn't a bad effort trying the Valley for the first time for his new trainer Douglas Whyte. Reliable Team cleared to the front 1,300m out and only succumbed in the last 100m after getting tested for all the marbles from the 800m by Elite Patch.
