Recap by phillip woo
Massive Pocket quickened brilliantly to win going away near the 100m after a patient ride second from the rear. He has good Valley form and was suited by the swift pace. Wind N Grass ran on well to grab second 50m out after peeling off the fence in midfield for a clear run 200m out. The 1,200m suits him better but he's firing on all cylinders at the moment. Explosive Witness came from last to pip We The South for third without menacing the quinella pair. He ran well yet again over this Valley trip. We The South grudgingly gave way over the last 100m but went too hard after clearing to the lead from a wide draw. He's always a chance over this trip. Plunged late, Valiant Dream came up one-paced when asked for an effort following a box-seat run in a higher grade. The Sha Tin straight suits him better. Shining Ace only plodded in the run to the wire after peeling out for a clear run rounding the final bend following a one-out, one-back run. Favourite Grateful Heart faded over the final 200m after stalking the speed one off the fence. He couldn't cope with the quick pace carrying a big weight.
