Recap by phillip woo

Superbella quickened nicely to win going away 200m out after settling four back on the fence from a wide draw. He was suited by the solid pace with a step up in distance after three positive runs over the Valley 1,650m. Methane rallied nicely to finish a non-threatening second after a patient ride fourth from the rear. He's as honest as the day is long over this course. Favourite Bright Vision kept on reasonably well for third after chasing a strong tempo. He's a winner waiting to happen after filling the frame in his past three starts over this course and distance. Winning Volatility finished late near the inside to fill the frame after settling a clear last following a tardy break from a wide draw. He can bob up at any moment. Owners' Star ran on without menacing after biding his time third from the rear. It was another honest effort but he has trouble winning. Soccer Master gradually faded over the final 100m following a prominent run on the fence. It wasn't a bad effort up in grade trying the 1,800m for the first time. Divine Unicorn faded midstraight after working too hard leading 1,200m out from gate nine.

Racing Incident Report

Race Two: (566) - PRICE HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1800Meters

GLENEALY PALS began awkwardly, shifted out at the start and bumped BRIGHT VISION which shifted in marginally.

GLENEALY PALS then lost ground when crowded for room inside BRIGHT VISION which, after initially being taken in by RED ELYSEES, shifted in further away from that horse despite the efforts of its rider.

In this incident, GLENEALY PALS shifted in and brushed PERFECT TO PLAY which was awkwardly placed outside the heels of SOCCER MASTER.

From wide barriers, METHANE, WINNING VOLATILITY and SUPERBELLA were all shifted across behind runners in the early stages to obtain cover.

After initially being ridden along, OWNERS' STAR was steadied passing the 1600 Metres to obtain cover.

After the 1200 Metres, HAPPY WIN WIN was left racing wide and without cover.

After the 900 Metres, SUPERBELLA was awkwardly placed close to the heels of GLENEALY PALS which itself was racing close to the heels of RED ELYSEES.

Passing the 600 Metres, OWNERS' STAR was checked away from the heels of HAPPY WIN WIN after improving into very tight running inside that horse.

At the 350 Metres, WINNING VOLATILITY shifted out and bumped OWNERS' STAR.

The performance of GLENEALY PALS, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, GLENEALY PALS will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of RED ELYSEES, PERFECT TO PLAY and GLENEALY PALS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

BRIGHT VISION, SUPERBELLA and METHANE were sent for sampling.
