Favourite Hurry Hurry Gain ran down Sky Show in deep stretch for the win after getting hampered 850m out and losing ground to sit three deep behind midfield. He's now won two of three starts and the future is very bright. Sky Show wouldn't go down without a fight after clearing to the lead from a wide gate rounding the first bend. He'll be saluting shortly after producing good efforts in back-to-back runs following a stable change. Biz Power closed late to just miss second after showing no speed as usual and settling at the rear of the field. He keeps promising without delivering. Storm Warnings kept on onepaced after a prominent run following a sluggish break. The big weight following a return to a senior rider anchored him. Veteran Winston's Lad made some ground near the inside from towards the rear to earn a minor cheque. He's just not good enough at this level. Punted late, Mig Energy ran on without menacing down the outside after making his run third last and deep on the track following a bump 800m out.

Racing Incident Report

Race Eight: (562) - HARLECH HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters

On arrival at the Start, it was noted that SKY SHOW had blood in its mouth.

SKY SHOW was examined by the Veterinary Officer and found to be suitable to race.

ENCOURAGED became badly unbalanced on jumping when bumped by SIMPLY SPECTACULAR which, after beginning awkwardly, was taken in by MOST WELCOME which got its head on the side and shifted in despite the efforts of its rider.

KA YING MASTER shifted out at the start and inconvenienced MIG ENERGY.

After the 1000 Metres, STORM WARNINGS commence to travel very keenly and at the 900 Metres shifted out away from the heels of KA YING MASTER which was being steadied to obtain cover behind SKY SHOW.

When STORM WARNINGS shifted out, HURRY HURRY GAIN lost ground when checked as a result of being taken out across the heels of SIMPLY SPECTACULAR.

When HURRY HURRY GAIN was checked, it shifted out and hampered MIG ENERGY.

HURRY HURRY GAIN was then awkwardly placed inside MOST WELCOME which shifted in, resulting in TEAM POWER and WINSTON'S LAD, which had improved to be racing inside the heels of HURRY HURRY GAIN, being tightened for room.

As the Stewards were of the opinion that this incident was as a result of STORM WARNINGS travelling keenly, no further action was taken.

Passing the 900 Metres, KA YING MASTER shifted out away from the heels of SKY SHOW (J Moreira) after being awkwardly placed behind that horse which shifted in when not quite clear.

J Moreira was advised to ensure that he provides sufficient clearance when shifting ground in similar circumstances.

Passing the 500 Metres, MOST WELCOME lay in away from the heels of SIMPLY SPECTACULAR after being awkwardly placed behind that horse, resulting in MOST WELCOME shifting in and crowding the racing room of TEAM POWER.

Passing the 300 Metres, WINSTON'S LEAD was shifted in away from the heels of KAY YING MASTER as that horse was giving ground.

Near the 150 Metres, SIMPLY SPECTACULAR was momentarily awkwardly placed outside the heels of STORM WARNINGS which lay out under pressure.

For the majority of the race, SIMPLY SPECTACULAR travelled wide and without cover.

After the race, Z Purton was not able to offer any explanation for the disappointing performance of KA YING MASTER.

He said the manner in which the horse came under pressure rounding the Home Turn and then gave ground noticeably in the Straight indicated to him that it may have had an issue.

A veterinary inspection of KA YING MASTER immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer??which had previously been reported.

The performance of KA YING MASTER, which was eased down in the Straight to finish at the tail of the field, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, KA YING MASTER will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of SIMPLY SPECTACULAR immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

A veterinary inspection of TEAM POWER immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm.

Before being allowed to race again, TEAM POWER will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

HURRY HURRY GAIN and SKY SHOW were sent for sampling.
