Recap by phillip woo
Co-favourite Ping Hai Bravo easily got up 30m out to win with something in hand following a handy run on the stands side for a fourth win from five starts following a switch to the straight 1,000m. He loves this trip. Equal favourite Duke Wai had his chance but found one just too good chasing the speed with the claim well utilised. It was another honest effort. Baltic Success grudgingly gave way after quickly establishing a huge margin in front on the grandstand side from a wide draw. It was a much better effort on his past few runs. Gunnison stayed on a distant fourth following a midfield run on the far side. He was able to pick up some nice prize money but is clearly beyond his better days. Smart Leader ran on without menacing from towards the rear. He's better suited over a longer trip in Class Three. Punted late, Sunny Boy didn't have much to offer when asked for an effort over the final 200m following a speed-chasing run. He's a Class Three horse.
