Racing Incident Report
Race Four: (454) - KING KWONG HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1000Meters
MR LUMIERES shifted out at the start and bumped PRINCE OF BON BON.
AQUILA shifted out on jumping after being brushed by LITTLE BIRD and in doing so bumped SAUL'S SPECIAL.
From wide barriers, TELECOM SMART, GENTLE BREEZE and NORDIC WELLSTAR were all shifted across behind runners in the early stages to obtain cover.
Near the 950 Metres, PRINCE OF BON BON and MR LUMIERES bumped as PRINCE OF BON BON raced tight inside LITTLE BIRD.
Passing the 900 Metres, PRINCE OF BON BON was awkwardly placed outside the heels of MR LUMIERES when being shifted across behind that horse.
Rounding the Home Turn, JAZZ STEED raced close to the heels of ORION PATCH.
Approaching the 200 Metres, LITTLE BIRD was momentarily crowded for room inside ORION PATCH which got its head on the side and shifted in away from JAZZ STEED as that horse raced tight inside MR LUMIERES which was awkwardly placed close to the heels of AQUILA as that horse was giving ground.
ORION PATCH was then shifted out abruptly passing the 200 Metres to relieve the tightening to LITTLE BIRD.
After the 150 Metres, GENTLE BREEZE shifted out and away from TELECOM SMART which shifted out.
Then near the 50 Metres, GENTLE BREEZE and TELECOM SMART bumped.
Throughout the race, FLYING GENIUS travelled wide and without cover.
A veterinary inspection of BE READY, MR LUMIERES, AQUILA and ORION PATCH immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
JAZZ STEED, FLYING GENIUS and NORDIC WELLSTAR were sent for sampling.

Flying Genius just held on by a lip after hitting the front 250m out following a deep run without cover chasing the speed for a second course and distance win this season. It was a tough win carrying top weight. Nordic Wellstar came from well back and widest out to nearly cause an upset. He does appear to be heading in the right direction after an improved effort last start. Post-time favourite Jazz Steed stayed on well along the inside to finish a close third following a rail run better than midfield. He's as honest as the day is long. Early favourite Saul's Special produced a mild bid to fill the frame without menacing the top three following a handy run one off the fence. It was another honest effort. Be Ready ran on steadily after a deep run from behind midfield to earn a minor cheque. It wasn't a bad run first up following fetlock arthroscopy. Aquila faded after vying for the lead one off the fence with Orion Patch. He's not genuine. Gentle Breeze never featured travelling third from the rear. He's been a great servant for connections but has struggled to find any sort of form and should think about retirement.
