Grateful Heart was too good after hitting the front 250m out stalking the leader Multimillion for a fourth win from six starts this term despite a step back in distance. He's got the tools to win another. Multimillion stuck on gamely to just hold second from Shining Ace after clearing to lead from gate seven. He's always a chance over the 1,000m at either track. Shining Ace ran on well to just miss second after travelling strongly one off in midfield. The Valley 1,200m suits him better. Massive Pocket came from towards the rear to edge Hong Kong Bet for fourth. He's crying out for a 1,200m trip. Hong Kong Bet made a steady bid following a rail run in midfield. He's naturally returning to form after a fetlock injury in July. Explosive Witness ran on without menacing travelling second last. The big weight took its toll. Punted late, Larson came up one-paced after a wide without cover run the entire trip in midfield. He had an excuse. Well-backed late, California Concord found nothing when asked for an effort following a one-out, one-back run. He's a dirt horse.

Racing Incident Report

Race Six: (398) - CHEUNG SHA WAN HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1000Meters

On jumping, MEGA HEART was inconvenienced by LARSON which shifted out.

Then, from the outside barrier, MEGA HEART was shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.

On the turn approaching the 500 Metres, HONG KONG BET was steadied away from the heels of WINNER SUPREME after being awkwardly placed inside the heels of that horse for some distance.

Throughout the race, CALIFORNIA CONCORD travelled wide and without cover.

After the race, A Badel stated that EXPLOSIVE WITNESS was somewhat out-paced in the early stages, but that is consistent with the horse's general racing pattern over 1000 Metres at Happy Valley.

He said however that the horse did not close off the race as expected and was disappointing.

He said EXPLOSIVE WITNESS felt "flat??tonight.

A veterinary inspection of EXPLOSIVE WITNESS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

A veterinary inspection of WINNER SUPREME immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.

Before being allowed to race again, WINNER SUPREME will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

GRATEFUL HEART and MULTIMILLION were sent for sampling.
