Recap by phillip woo

Firming favourite Colonel got up by a neck after handing up the lead and taking the sit one-off in second at the 850m. He's really come into his own to win two of his past three Valley starts. My Ecstatic kept on gamely after having to work to lead from a tricky gate 800m out. He's naturally coming to hand in his three starts and can salute shortly. Courageous Dragon ran on steadily to finish a non-threatening third following a one-off run better than midfield. He relished a return to the course and distance of two earlier placings. Street Scream stayed on well near the inside from towards the back to spice up the quartet. He's got a bottom in his sights. Noble Man came up one-paced settling third along the fence. He's limited and is likely destined for a stint in Class Five. Newcomer Vukan ran on all right after a one-off run behind midfield. He'll certainly come on for this run. Hercules made a steady bid late after copping a check 250m out following a patient ride fifth from the rear. He had an excuse. Wood On Fire ran on without menacing. He got too far back from a wide gate.

Racing Incident Report

Race Two: (318) - GREAT GEORGE HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters

FLYING PHOTOS was slow to begin.

From wide barriers, HERCULES, STREET SCREAM and WOOD ON FIRE were all shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Approaching the 1100 Metres, RUNNING GUY was inconvenienced by NOBLE MAN which shifted out before being corrected.

Approaching the first turn, VUKAN commenced to race greenly and lay in away from COURAGEOUS DRAGON, resulting in RUNNING GUY and FLYING PHOTOS being hampered.

After leaving the 900 Metres, MOMENTUM HAPPY got its head on the side, shifted in and made contact with the hindquarters of COURAGEOUS DRAGON which became unbalanced.

Also after leaving the 900 Metres, RUNNING GUY shifted in when awkwardly placed behind VUKAN.

MOMENTUM HAPPY travelled wide and without cover from the 800 Metres and in the Straight gave ground.

A veterinary inspection of MOMENTUM HAPPY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Approaching the 200 Metres, FLYING PHOTOS (A Badel) shifted in and made contact with HERCULES which then became momentarily awkwardly placed near the heels of MOMENTUM HAPPY which shifted out when under pressure.

HERCULES was then shifted further to the inside of COURAGEOUS DRAGON to continue improving.

A Badel was reprimanded and told that in similar circumstances he would be expected to keep his mounts on a straight course and avoid making unnecessary contact with other runners.

After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that FLYING PHOTOS had bled from both nostrils.

COLONEL and MY ECSTATIC were sent for sampling.
