Newcomer Sight Success was too good after hitting the front near the 200m after a deep run in midfield from a wide gate as the odds-on favourite. He's got a bright future. Fire Ball ran on well to finish a clear-cut second after a one-off run better than midfield. He proved a last-start run was no fluke. Debutant Free Foal ran on steadily along the inside to fill a placing after a rail run in midfield. It was a good effort. Judy's Star ran on well with one wider out after settling third last from a wide gate. He keeps promising without delivering. Lucky Fun ran on steadily following a rail run behind midfield. It was a positive effort. Romantic Trove just held his ground after a prominent run on the fence. He's still a work in progress. Breeze Of Spring gave up the chase after copping a check near the 100m following a three-deep run with cover behind midfield. He had an excuse.

Racing Incident Report

Race Four: (298) - PAK TAM CHUNG HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters

After being slow to begin, STAR OF WUYI lost further ground at the start when steadied away from the heels of ELIGERE which shifted out.

Soon after the start, LUCKY FUN was checked and lost ground when crowded for room between BREEZE OF SPRING and FREE FOAL which was taken out by ROMANTIC TROVE.

In this incident, FREE FOAL became unbalanced and BREEZE OF SPRING was also inconvenienced due to contact with LUCKY FUN.

From wide barriers, GAMEPLAYER STAR and JUDY'S STAR were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

LUCKY FUN was held up for clear running from the entrance to the Straight until approaching the 250 Metres.

After passing the 200 Metres, LUCKY RUBY was steadied when ROMANTIC TROVE shifted out from behind VOYAGE STAR to obtain clear running.

Over the final 200 Metres, VOYAGE STAR lay out under pressure and proved difficult to ride.

Approaching the 100 Metres, BREEZE OF SPRING was steadied when crowded for room between JUDY'S STAR which initially shifted in under pressure and ELIGERE which shifted out under pressure.

HONEY BEE raced wide and without cover throughout the event and in the Straight gave ground.

A veterinary inspection of HONEY BEE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

The performance of HONEY BEE, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, HONEY BEE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that ELIGERE had bled from both nostrils.

A veterinary inspection of BREEZE OF SPRING immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

SIGHT SUCCESS and FIRE BALL were sent for sampling.
