Racing Incident Report
Race One: (268) - SHELLEY HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1800Meters
From wide barriers, EXALTATION, CHEERFUL STAR and FORTUNE TRIPLE were all shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
For some distance approaching the 800 Metres, CHEERFUL STAR was awkwardly placed behind INDIGENOUS STAR.
EXALTATION travelled wide and without cover from the 800 Metres.
After shifting out to improve around the heels of SWEETLY BABY at the entrance to the Straight, OWNERS' STAR was then directed back to the inside of that horse to obtain clear running.
After the race, A Badel was unable to offer any explanation for the disappointing performance of SWEETLY BABY other than to say that the manner in which the horse weakened over the latter stages indicated to him that it may be experiencing some internal issues.
A veterinary inspection of and SWEETLY BABY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

BUNDLE OF DELIGHT and EXALTATION were sent for sampling.

Favourite Bundle Of Delight just held off the fast-finishing Exaltation after shooting to the front 200m out following a rails run in midfield for a maiden win at his ninth start. He was suited by the rise in trip and a return to the Valley. Exaltation just failed to get up by a whisker after being asked to pick up from towards the back at the 500m. He is well rated and had been unlucky in a few of his four other starts this term. Owners' Star stayed on a distant third following a prominent run on the fence. It wasn't a bad effort carrying top weight. Indigenous Star ran on well to fill the frame after settling on- off the fence behind midfield. He's not far off a bottom. Cheerful Star ran on without menacing after biding his time fourth from the rear. It was another typical run. Sweetly Baby faded 100m after moving to the front 350m out following a speed-chasing run behind Pretty Cute. He has failed to run out a strong 1,800m in back-to-back runs.
