Recap by phillip woo
Irish invader Mogul won going away 250 out after settling one-off with cover in midfield. The French Group One winner was too smart. Odds-on favourite Exultant found one too good after racing a bit too fiercely in front. He's more effective when tracking the speed. Columbus County was closing with every stride to just miss second prize after travelling second last in the seven-runner field. It was a big run stepping up to the 2,400m for the first time. Ho Ho Khan held his ground to finish a distant fourth after a box-seat run. He's not good enough at this level. Playa Del Puente got going late from the rear to pick up a minor cheque. This was too rich for his blood. Chefano weakened after settling one off in third. He was making up the numbers. Royal Julius tired after rolling forward to stalk the leader 1,650m out. He lived up to his long quote.
