Racing Incident Report
Race Six: (171) - JOHNSTON HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
CIGARY was slow to begin.
KINDA COOL began only fairly and after being ridden along from the outside barrier was then steadied shortly after the start and shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.
Shortly after the start, FOCUS and SIMPLY FLUKE bumped.
From a wide barrier, WINS ALL was steadied shortly after the start to obtain cover.
Despite being ridden along in the early stages from a wide barrier, VOYAGE STAR was slow to muster speed and then travelled very wide and without cover throughout the race.
Passing the 1100 Metres, NOBLE MAN shifted out and brushed REGENCY POET.
Making the turn after the 600 Metres, VOYAGE STAR got its head on the side and lay in towards the heels of FOCUS.
Rounding the Home Turn, SIMPLY FLUKE raced tight outside LUCKY QUALITY which shifted out.
In the early part of the Straight, CIGARY lay in and was reluctant to shift to the outside of VOYAGE STAR.
WINS ALL had some difficulty obtaining a run passing the 200 Metres and then was shifted to the outside of LUCKY QUALITY passing the 75 Metres to obtain clear running.
Throughout the race, FOCUS travelled wide and without cover.
A veterinary inspection of KINDA COOL immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
A veterinary inspection of VOYAGE STAR immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer??which had previously been reported.
KINDA COOL, LUCKY QUALITY and WINS ALL were sent for sampling.

Lucky Quality was caught four deep until slotting one-off better than midfield at the 600m, straightened five deep and closed well to win going away 100m out. He deserved the win after placing in his opening four starts this term. Late-fancied Wins All closed well to easily grab second after a one-off run worse than midfield. He's racing very well for his new trainer this season. Great Son wouldn't go down without a fight after getting his own way in front from gate two. He's kept on well for back-to-back placings but is a better prospect on a win line in Class Five. Noble Man kept on reasonably well after stalking the speed in second. It was one of his better runs in a while. Early favourite Simply Fluke came up one-paced over the final 150m after settling closer in the run three deep with cover in midfield. It was a below par performance. Kinda Cool got going late without menacing from towards the rear. He was always going to be set a task from gate 12.
