Racing Incident Report
Race Five: (170) - LOCKHART HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1650Meters
VILLA FIONN was crowded for room on jumping between ALL YOU KNOW and KIRAM which shifted out.
INCANTO PREPARED and GLORIOUS LOVER were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
CHARITY WINGS and FEARLESS FIRE were both ridden along shortly after the start from wide barriers and then approaching the winning post on the first occasion were shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.
FEARLESS FIRE however was left racing wide and without cover throughout the race.
Passing the 1400 Metres, GLORIOUS LOVER was steadied away from the heels of VILLA FIONN which shifted in away from the heels of BIG BANG BONG.
VILLA FIONN was then awkwardly placed close to the heels of BIG BANG BONG approaching and passing the 1200 Metres.
UNIVERSAL GO GO travelled wide and without cover until passing the 1000 Metres.
INCANTO PREPARED had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight and passing the 200 Metres shifted to the outside of ALL YOU KNOW to obtain a run, resulting in KIRAM being inconvenienced.
Passing the 100 Metres, A Badel (GLORIOUS LOVER) dropped his whip.
Over the concluding stages, ALL YOU KNOW and INCANTO PREPARED raced tight.
After the race, Z Purton stated that he was of the opinion that KING DRAGON may be better suited by being ridden more quietly in the early stages than it was today.
He said he had to make some use of the horse to clear runners to his inside to obtain a forward position and he felt that this may have been to the detriment of KING DRAGON's performance as it was not able to finish off the race over the concluding stages.
A veterinary inspection of KING DRAGON immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
A veterinary inspection of ALLOY STAR immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
A veterinary inspection of UNIVERSAL GO GO immediately following the race found that horse to have an intermittent displacement of the soft palate.
KING DRAGON, FEARLESS FIRE and VILLA FIONN were sent for sampling.

Punted late Fearless Fire had enough left in the tank to score an upset win after steadily improving from the 500m after a wide without cover run in midfield to get his head in front 150m out. Villa Fionn finished strongly down the outside to win a blanket finish for the minors after a patient ride third from the rear. He's naturally returning to form in his four starts and can breakthrough shortly. Punted late Glorious Lover closed well after angling outside the tiring Universal Go Go 150m out to get the head down for third. He should be able to find his mark in this grade. Incanto Prepared came on nicely from towards the rear to just miss a placing. It was another good effort carrying more weight following a last-start win. All You Know just missed the frame after a one-off run better than midfield. It was another honest effort by him this season. Daily Beauty had his chance following a prominent run on the fence. He seems to be on or near his mark.
