Racing Incident Report
Race One: (779) - RACING GOES ON 1200M HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1200Meters
FORTUNE BUDDY was slow to begin.
EXPONENTS began awkwardly.
HARBOUR ALERT shifted out at the start and bumped HEALTHY TREASURE.
From wide barriers, HEALTHY TREASURE and TANG TREASURE were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
After being ridden along for some distance in the early stages, EVER STRONG was steadied and shifted across behind runners after the 1100 Metres to obtain cover when racing wide.
Despite being vigorously ridden for some distance in the early stages, ROCHFORD failed to muster speed.
Passing the 150 Metres, FORTUNE BUDDY was shifted out away from the heels of HEALTHY TREASURE and EVER STRONG.
For the majority of the race, CORRE RAPIDO travelled wide and without cover.
The performance of JOY AVENUE, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, JOY AVENUE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of EVER STRONG, JOY AVENUE and HARBOUR ALERT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that FORTUNE BUDDY was displaying heat stress.
Before being allowed to race again, FORTUNE BUDDY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
ADONIS, YEE CHEONG LUCKY and EXPONENTS were sent for sampling.

Plunged late Yee Cheong Lucky was too good after hitting the front 250m out following a prominent run on the fence for a second win and first on the dirt from his past four starts following a move to blinkers. He's an improved runner after debuting for Tony Millard in March. Exponents closed well to grab second on the wire after a patient ride third from the rear. He's been racing well without winning. Corre Rapido kept on well for a placing after a wide without cover run near the speed. He's always a chance over this surface and trip. Fairy Floss was swamped late for a placing after finding the front 850m out. He's now given a decent sight in two of three goes on this surface. Favourite Adonis made some ground without ever looking a threat following a one-off run in midfield. He's more effective on the turf. Ever Strong left things too late after fading back from a wide draw. He's clearly capable of winning at this level in the right race.
