Racing Incident Report
Race Eleven: (759) - AQUAMARINE HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters
BEAUTY LOYAL began only fairly.
ELIGERE was tightened for room on jumping between EXCEPTIONAL NICE and BIG FORTUNE which shifted out.
HINYUEN SWIFTNESS and STANLEY PARK bumped at the start.
HINYUEN SWIFTNESS then shifted out, resulting in LIKE THAT and WHAT A LEGEND being crowded for room.
After this, WHAT A LEGEND was steadied to obtain cover from a wide barrier.
From the outside barriers, SUPER DOBBIN and WIND N GRASS were also shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Approaching the 1000 Metres, GOOD LUCK FRIEND and BIG FORTUNE raced tight.
Also approaching the 1000 Metres, WHAT A LEGEND momentarily raced tight between BEAUTY LOYAL and SUPER DOBBIN which shifted in before being directed back out.
WIND N GRASS was inconvenienced in consequence.
Apprentice C Wong (STANLEY PARK) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that passing the 950 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of BIG FORTUNE, resulting in that horse being unnecessarily hampered and taken in onto GOOD LUCK FRIEND which in turn was taken in and crowded the room of BIZ POWER.
EXCEPTIONAL NICE, which was following BIG FORTUNE, was checked away from the heels of that horse in consequence.
When EXCEPTIONAL NICE was checked, ELIGERE and BEAUTY LOYAL were inconvenienced whilst SUPER DOBBIN was checked away from the heels of EXCEPTIONAL NICE, causing WIND N GRASS to be hampered.
Apprentice Wong was suspended from riding in races for the racemeeting to be conducted at Sha Tin on Sunday, 5 July 2020.
As such, Apprentice Wong is eligible to resume race riding on Monday, 6 July 2020.
In addition, Apprentice Wong was fined $7,500.
Passing the 400 Metres, V Borges (ELIGERE) dropped his whip.
Approaching the 350 Metres, GOOD LUCK FRIEND was shifted to the outside of BIG FORTUNE to obtain clear running.
Passing the 250 Metres, BIZ POWER shifted in and made contact with HINYUEN SWIFTNESS.
Throughout the race, HINYUEN SWIFTNESS travelled wide and without cover.
A veterinary inspection of BEAUTY LOYAL, HINYUEN SWIFTNESS and LIKE THAT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
GOOD LUCK FRIEND and BIG FORTUNE were sent for sampling.

Odds-on favourite Good Luck Friend just got up in the nick of time after gaining a clear run 150m out following a rail run in midfield to ring up a third win from five starts. He clearly has the ability to head higher. Big Fortune did everything right but get the win after hitting the front near the 50m following a one-off run in midfield. He's honest as the day is long and relished the claimer's allowance. Biz Power closed well from behind midfield to finish a close third. He continues to knock on the door for his new trainer this season but may be worth a step up to 1,400m again. Super Dobbin closed well for fourth after a four-deep run behind midfield from a wide gate. It was a vastly-improved effort second-up. Cruising was still holding a two-length advantage passing the 200m but hit a brick wall 50m out. Wind N Grass made up heaps of ground after settling a distant last from gate 14 but never looked a threat. He's the type that can bob up at any moment.
