Recap by phillip woo
Odds-on favourite Kings Shield was well rated in front and drew clear when asked for an effort at the head of the straight. He's a superstar on this surface at mile and possibly 1,800m. Buddies was no match for the winner but was still clearly second best after stalking the winner one off the fence from the get go. It was a sound effort in defeat. Raging Blitzkrieg ran his usual honest race to fill a placing after a box-seat run but is on his mark. Mongolian King got going from just worse than midfield to fill the frame but a long way off the top three. He was set a task carrying more weight following a last-start win. Glorious Artist ran on without menacing after settling second from the rear. He got too far back in the run. Plunged late Cordyceps found nothing after a perfect run sitting just behind the leading trio. Off this effort, he's not a dirt horse.
