Race Four: (682) - THE SHA TIN VASE (HANDICAP) - Class G3 - 1200Meters
WALDORF bumped the hindquarters of THANKS FOREVER on jumping.
FAT TURTLE began only fairly.
WISHFUL THINKER was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Passing the 1100 Metres, FAT TURTLE was eased away from the heels of THANKS FOREVER.
Close to the finishing line, BIG PARTY raced in restricted room between THANKS FOREVER and HOT KING PRAWN which shifted out.
For the majority of the race, JOLLY BANNER travelled wide and without cover.
A veterinary inspection of WISHFUL THINKER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
THANKS FOREVER and HOT KING PRAWN were sent for sampling.

Favourite Thanks Forever just got up in the final 10m to edge Hot King Prawn after settling one-out, one-back for an overdue win at group level. The six-pound swing in the weights and a riding change to Zac Purton was the difference in the end. Hot King Prawn did everything right but get the win after putting them to sleep in front. He lost nothing in defeat carrying top weight. Punted late Big Party was a head-bob away in third after tracking the leader one off the fence. It was a return to form carrying a lighter weight for this run. Fat Turtle closed well from midfield to nearly place. It was a good effort in a race run to suit those in front with money for him late. Jolly Banner ran on well after making his run outside Fat Turtle in midfield. He's been around a long time but rarely produces a bad run. Wishful Thinker never got involved from the rear of the field.
