Racing Incident Report
Race Ten: (669) - PAK SHA O HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters
Apprentice C L Chau (YOUNG LEGEND) was fined $2,000 for initially weighing out with two girths which resulted in the saddle having to be returned to the Weighing Room and Apprentice Chau having to re-weigh.
HELAKU KNIGHT began very awkwardly and lost ground.
SUPERICH lifted its front feet off the ground as the start was effected, shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of HAPPY FORTUNE.
After this, SUPERICH and HAPPY FORTUNE were steadied and shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.
Near the 950 Metres, SUPERICH was awkwardly placed close to the heels of PING HAI BRAVO.
After the 950 Metres, HELAKU KNIGHT commenced to prove very difficult to settle and got its head up when momentarily racing in restricted room inside TOM'S STYLE which was proving difficult to settle and awkwardly placed close to the heels of YOUNG LEGEND.
After this, TOM'S STYLE continued to prove very difficult to settle and was awkwardly placed behind YOUNG LEGEND.
After the 900 Metres, ELIGERE was left racing wide and without cover.
PING HAI BRAVO had difficulty obtaining clear running passing the 200 Metres and then near the 150 Metres, after improving into very tight running between YOUNG LEGEND and MIG ENERGY, PING HAI BRAVO was crowded for room outside MIG ENERGY which shifted out marginally before becoming unbalanced due to contact on the hindquarters from PING HAI BRAVO and then shifting out further.
After the race, A Hamelin reported that he was instructed to obtain a midfield position if possible on PING HAI BRAVO.
He said after the 1100 Metres he was racing inside the heels of SUPER QILIN and he believed that he would have had to ride his mount along to maintain his position inside that horse and therefore he elected to shift across behind HELAKU KNIGHT which resulted in the horse racing slightly further back in the field than had been intended.
INNER FLAME and PRESIDENT'S CHOICE were sent for sampling.

Favourite Inner Flame kept on gamely to hold off President's Choice for a fourth win from five starts after shaking off Mig Energy to establish a two-length lead at the 300m. He's still progressing. President's Choice took some time to wind up but was closing well over the final 100m after a prominent run on the fence. Punted late Young Legend stayed on well for a placing after a one-out, one-back run. It was a pleasing result under 10-pound claimer Jerry Chau Chun-lok. Ping Hai Bravo closed well to fill the frame after a patient ride fourth from the back. It was a good result after returning with blood in his trachea twice last month. Mig Energy gave way over the last 100m after pressing Inner Flame for the lead from a wide gate. He's better ridden held up for a run. Eligere stayed on OK down the outside after a deep run without cover in midfield. He had an excuse. Superich got too far back from a wide gate in a race run to suit those in front.
