Recap by phillip woo

In a four-runner race following the withdrawal of Sea Monarch, Like That came from the rear to grab victory 150m out. He reappeared a more polished performer after failing to beat a galloper in his debut. Favourite Smiling Face found one too good after leading on the stands side. He's given a nice sight for seconds in both starts. Chancheng Prince stayed for third without threatening the top pair. It was another honest effort. Super Ten was a non-factor after getting jostled about at the start in his debut.

Racing Incident Report

Race One: (621) - THE ARGONAUT PLATE - Class GRIFFIN - 1000Meters

SEA MONARCH was withdrawn on raceday morning by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (head injury).

Before being allowed to race again, SEA MONARCH will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

SMILING FACE shifted in at the start and bumped SUPER TEN which in turn shifted in and made contact with LIKE THAT which became unbalanced after being bumped on the hindquarters by SUPER TEN.

Passing the 400 Metres, SMILING FACE raced greenly and shifted in.

For the majority of the race, SUPER TEN lay in and passing the 400 Metres shifted in and made contact with CHANCHENG PRINCE, resulting in both horses becoming unbalanced.

Approaching the 200 Metres, SUPER TEN raced tight outside CHANCHENG PRINCE which got its head on the side and shifted out.

LIKE THAT and SMILING FACE were sent for sampling.
