Racing Incident Report
Race Eight: (619) - FORTRESS HILL HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1650Meters
GOLDEN SPECTRUM shifted out at the start and bumped RED ELYSEES, causing GOLDEN SPECTRUM to become unbalanced and lose ground.
DIVINE UNICORN began awkwardly and shortly after the start bumped with PACKING JOY.
From wide barriers, SURREALISM and MONGOLIAN LEGEND were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
After the 1000 Metres, DIVINE UNICORN was left racing wide and without cover.
Near the 500 Metres, PACKING JOY commenced to give ground abruptly, resulting in RED ELYSEES being severely hampered when checked away from the heels of that horse near the 450 Metres.
A veterinary inspection of PACKING JOY immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from both nostrils.
A veterinary inspection of SURREALISM, DIVINE UNICORN, OWNERS' STAR immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
A veterinary inspection of MONGOLIAN LEGEND immediately following the race revealed the horse to be displaying an irregular heart rhythm and also found the horse to be lame in its left hind leg.
Before being allowed to race again, MONGOLIAN LEGEND will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
ACCLAIMED LIGHT and CINQUANTE CINQ were sent for sampling.

Acclaimed Light held off favourite Cinquante Cinq after moving to the lead approaching the 50m following a handy run on the fence for fifth career win and fourth when piloted by Neil Callan. He's an honest old-timer. Cinquante Cinq finished well to make it close on the wire after having to switch outside the fast-tiring Packing Joy 500m out travelling behind midfield in the run. Heavenly Thought was no match for the top pair after reclaiming the lead 200m out from Farshad. He continues to hover around the finish in his past three starts. Brave King finished well to add some value to the Quartet after biding his time third from the rear. Golden Spectrum stayed on better from behind midfield to pick up some prize money. He's still acclimatising but it was a better run at his sixth start. Farshad didn't have much left in the tank after rolling to the lead 1,000m out. Red Elysees was badly hampered 500m out by the stopping Packing Joy.
