Racing Incident Report
Race Six: (617) - FORTRESS HILL HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1650Meters
FLASH FAMOUS and XIANG BAI QI bumped at the start.
GRACEANDMERCY shifted out at the start and bumped GREEN REIGN.
From wide barriers, SMART PATCH and HERCULES were steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.
Approaching and passing the 800 Metres, XIANG BAI QI commenced to travel keenly and was very awkwardly placed behind FLASH FAMOUS.
Passing the 300 Metres, WIND GLIDER was steadied away from the heels of TOP SCORE after being disappointed for running between that horse and GREEN REIGN which shifted in.
Also passing the 300 Metres, DYNAMIC EAGLE got its head up when awkwardly placed behind JOLLY HONOUR.
XIANG BAI QI was held up for clear running approaching and passing the 250 Metres and after being disappointed for a run between FLASH FAMOUS and DYNAMIC EAGLE was steadied and shifted out passing the 200 Metres to improve.
Passing the 100 Metres, WIND GLIDER was awkwardly placed outside the heels of GREEN REIGN which shifted out.
A veterinary inspection of XIANG BAI QI immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on GRACEANDMERCY at the request of Trainer A T Millard.
The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.
Before being allowed to race again, GRACEANDMERCY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
FLASH FAMOUS, DELIGHTFUL LAOS and GREEN REIGN were sent for sampling.

Newcomer Delightful Laos quickened brilliantly from behind midfield to win going away 60m out with a clear run passing the 200m. He's only three years of age and appears to have a bright future. Punted late Green Reign fought back in deep stretch when briefly headed for the lead by Jolly Honour 150m out to take second but was no match for the winner. He's racing well without winning. Favourite Flash Famous just got the head down for third after a one-off run better than midfield. Jolly Honour peaked on his run 50m out after poking his head in front 150m out following a box-seat run. It was another honest effort. Top Score grudgingly gave way after leading from a wide gate. It wasn't a bad run but he's likely on his mark after a win early last month. Wind Glider just missed a placing after a prominent run and with no clear run early straight. Dynamic Eagle ran on well from midfield to make it close for the minors. He's run well in defeat both times.
