Racing Incident Report
Race Five: (587) - KENT HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
HANG'S DECISION began only fairly and then was crowded for room on jumping between WAYFOONG CHARMER and SUPER POWER MAN which shifted out.
STAR SUPERIOR stumbled at the start and then bumped with VIVA COUNCIL.
From wide barriers, GENERAL TRUMP, SPLENDID TIMING and STAR SUPERIOR were all shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
In the early stages, ELITE BOY, when being ridden along, raced tight inside SUPER POWER MAN (C Schofield).
C Schofield was reprimanded and told that he is required to provide comfortable racing room to runners on his inside until he is sufficiently clear to cross.
Throughout the race, VIVA COUNCIL travelled wide and without cover and rounding the Home Turn got its head on the side and lay out and consequently gave ground in the Straight.
Shortly after entering the Straight, GENERAL TRUMP was shifted out abruptly around the heels of VIVA COUNCIL as that horse was giving ground.
After the race, K Teetan stated that SUPREME PATROL travelled very well in the early and middle stages and he expected that the horse would finish off the race well.
He said however that no sooner he placed SUPREME PATROL under pressure that the horse commenced to come off the bridle and did not respond to his riding.
He said he rode the horse out for some distance in the Straight, however, SUPREME PATROL commenced to give ground near the 100 Metres and was very disappointing over the concluding stages.
A veterinary inspection of SUPREME PATROL immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

SUPER POWER MAN and EXCEL DELIGHT were sent for sampling.

Favourite Super Power Man had just enough left after straightening two lengths on top leading from a good gate for back-to-back wins from only three starts despite a backbreaking weight. Excel Delight made it close with a bold run three from the right after a patient ride one-off behind midfield. He doesn't know how to run a bad run on this surface. Plunged late Thou Shall Sing was no match for the Quinella pair and just held off Wayfoong Charmer for third following a speed-stalking run from a tricky gate. Wayfoong Charmer ran on steadily along the inside saving ground in midfield to just miss a placing. He has racing reasonably well on both surfaces but lacks the necessary punch to win at this level. Elite Boy couldn't match the eventual winner for speed after jumping a stride slow and only came up one-paced in a speed-tracking role on the fence. Splendid Timing ran on without menacing after making his run fourth from the back.
