Racing Incident Report
Race One: (527) - UN CHAU HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1400Meters
GOLDEN CANNON was slow to begin.
Soon after the start, BLAZING PARTNERS was tightened for room between LIVERBIRD STAR and PLEASANT GUY, both of which shifted ground.
From wide barriers, BIG BULLY and MONEY WINNER were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Making the turn after the 900 Metres, GOLDEN CANNON got its head up when racing keenly.
Passing the 800 Metres, GLORIAM was left racing wide and without cover.
Approaching and passing the 600 Metres, SOCCER MASTER was steadied when awkwardly placed close to the heels of SPICY REALLY.
PLEASANT GUY was held up for clear running from the entrance to the Straight until near the 250 Metres.
After the race, K Teetan stated that after being held up from passing the 400 Metres until the 250 Metres, SPICY REALLY then did not quicken when placed under pressure and was disappointing.
A veterinary inspection of SPICY REALLY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
A veterinary inspection of PLEASANT GUY immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.
Before being allowed to race again, PLEASANT GUY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that LIVERBIRD STAR had sustained a minor laceration to the inside of the right hind heel.
HURRICANE HUNTER, SOCCER MASTER and LIVERBIRD STAR were sent for sampling.

Soccer Master got the split between runners near the inside to grab the win 100m out after a rail run behind midfield. He's always flashed the ability to win at this level and finally had things fall into place. Punted late Liverbird Star ran on steadily to grab second after a one-off run better than midfield. He's pretty honest at this level. Kwai Chung Elite gradually gave way after hitting the front 300m out following a one-out, one-back run. Favourite Hurricane Hunter finished well down the outside but left things too late after making his run three from the back fading back from a tricky gate. Humble Steed ran on steadily without menacing after a deep run travelling behind midfield. He was able to follow up an improved effort last time out. Firming late in betting Blazing Partners made some ground after settling worse than midfield near the fence. The ground may have been softer than he likes and might warrant a step up to a mile.
